I say "God Bless You." Fun fact, this was started way back in the day when people believed a demon/bad spirit was being expelled from the body when a sneeze occurred, and it was said to prevent re-entry into the host and give blessing to the person who rid themselves of said demon.

First sneeze: god bless you
Second: god save you
Third: go to hell
Second: god save you
Third: go to hell

So, why use a curse substitute? Seems odd to not want to curse and then go out of your way to use a word that sounds like it.
Back to the topic, I say "blesha"

Don't say "Bless you" or "God bless you" after an atheist sneezes. They'll ignore you or say I don't believe in God. It's so annoying

Although I was raised to say "Bless you", I say "Gesundheit" more often. If it's someone I'm familiar with, I'll say "Again" after multiple sneezes.

Lol. Zero common sense.
What won't people believe?

I say bless you. It's polite

I am from the Deep South and practice all types of "niceties" from please and thank you to ma'am and sir. I expect my children to as well. I believe it creates a more civil and polite society. However, and for some reason, "bless you" after someone sneezes grates my nerves.

Well.....I don't know. It is like drinking an O'Douls instead of a Corona I guess.

Because he doesn't want the responsibility for saying the curse word. He puts it on you, by subbing it out with a word that makes you think of it. Louis CK has a bit on this
