I've lurked for a while now but I'd like to get some feedback.

I pulled a career change recently and left a life where I had nearly a decade of experience.

Went back to schools (Nicholls Online baller) and am about 4 classes away from an Associate's in Safety Technology. I'm starting to explore some options but I do have some questions.

Would it be possible to move into an HSE role without offshore experience? I worked for a fab shop where we built mud tanks but that was onshore about 11 years back. I don't mind roustabouting if I must, but I don't want to if I can slide in elsewhere.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for my horrible typing skills. Edits made.

Genius Mofo that doesn't know how to operate a message board. Color me skeptical about the genius part.

I knew my edit wouldn't be fast enough, but I didn't think I'd get slayed that bad.

Well done.

To answer your question, any field work you get under your belt is gonna add to your credibility as an HSE guy. Don't be too quick to dismiss field experience in "the patch".

I hear you. I'll make the sacrifice if I have to without griping. I just didn't know if there was a way around it.

Not married, so there's that. Besides, Jody makes plenty of visits to 9-5 guys, too.

Also, what is the Wi-Fi situation generally like? I jumped into the AS program because it was a quick means to an end, but I'm also close to a 4 year BSAD. I'd like to continue to work toward that if at all possible.

The WiFi isn't terrible, but it's not great. Good for surfing and chatting, but you can forget about any kind of video streaming
