This is just shameful. The local firefighters and police were happy to accept the invitation.

Our military has just become another partisan political arm of Washington especially at the leadership level

So what's to stop the chitren from visiting the armory or a recruiting display? We shouldn't be wasting money paying soldiers to go to those things.

It states: “Army participation must not selectively benefit (or appear to benefit) any person, group, or corporation (whether profit or nonprofit); religion, sect, religious or sectarian group, or quasi-religious or ideological movement.”
quote:

The policy also states that troops are to avoid any activities that might involve or appear to involve the promotion, endorsement, or sponsorship of any religious or sectarian movement

In June, the Department of Defense gave permission for a military color guard to march in Washington, D.C.’s gay pride parade. It marked the first time in history the U.S. Army Military District of Washington participated in the parade

ETA: You know we are screwed as a country when the military can't visit a church but they can march in a gay pride parade.

It was dumb to follow the regulation. Just show up and ask for forgiveness later.

Welcome to the age of enlightenment, Pastor Hogan - where the military can march in a gay pride parade but they can’t hang out with six-year-olds at Vacation Bible School.

Progress. Ain't it great.

Why did not the VBS not setup a meeting spot not at the church.. I am sure they have a church bus or something close.. Setup off church grounds then invite them there is always loops holes around things..

This may piss some off, but this is the shite that the right needs to just stay away from and shut the hell up about. This is small cookies. Let's pick and choose our battles boys.

They properly followed Army Regulation 360-1 (The Army Public Affairs Program). Current version was published in May 2011.

Non issue.

I think this is a bad policy on the part of the government. As a Christian and a citizen with a long family military history, this makes me never want my children to volunteer for military service.

I don't mind the military being present at any event as a public relations tool. To me, not being present at this event has the exact opposite effect. That should be clear to anyone.

ETA: "God, Country, Family, Friends, Self" has always been my motto. Country is quickly losing a spot of importance in my life.
