The Quad was better before Middleton rose up from architectural hell and placed itself dissecting the larger original quad
Troy Middleton's rationale for that was so freaking stupid. They really need to implode that architectural abomination.

Middleton, Lockett and Tureaud should all go the way of the dinosaur.

I've always wondered why they didn't match the south end zone to the north end zone and add the exterior colosseum look?

I'd pay good money to be the guy that presses the button to send those buildings into oblivion.

The new business building is better? One really has to question the thought process on their new buildings

Middleton Library comes into play with that as well. Story is, the BOS and legislature had to cut a deal to also build the library at the same time, thereby forcing them to cut corners on the South Endzone expansion.

While Middleton is architecturally awful in and of itself, the gripe here is more about the placement right in the middle of the quad, destroying the cruciform design of the entire surroundings as originally conceived.

Wow, I knew the Pentagon dorms were old, but I didn't realize they were at least 1937 old.
The signs next to the Pentagon say c. 192ish not sure exactly, i'll read it again when i walk around there when i get back to LSU in the fall
and yeah, the pentagon is pretty sketchy nowadays

Twofold:
1.) DIdn't have the room on that side to mirror the north enclosure. Given the space constraints, they had to make the expansion double-decked instead of a single stadium slope.
2.) We needed seats fast, but we weren't yet a very wealthy athletic department, so we took a couple shortcuts with the design. Hello, ugly pillar design.

LSU was established 1860, so ONE of these dorms has to be pretty dang old.

In Pineville. Then to Downtown BR. And to the current campus in the mid to late 1920's

Looks awesome. Pleasant Hall was the first women's dorm iirc. Similar to Miller now
