I've been here since the beginning of June and all I've had is shitty food. So any recommendations?

I don't know about pittsburgh in particular, but I found pennsylvania to have pretty good food in general...get yourself out to the amish areas for some good southern-style food...

Try the Sewickley Hotel.
What area of town are you in?

When I was there I went to the three locations Adam Richman visited in man vs food: delucas, Quaker steak and lube, and primanti bros. Delucas was good (breakfast diner, always a line out the door), but the other two were gimmicky/chainy and mediocre.

I'm in shadyside, I'll be here for another 3 months so I'm up to driving anywhere.

Have you been to the strip district? In all honesty Pittsburgh isn't a good food town. I expected better. It's the kind of place where unless you grew up eating it, it's just average at best ala Prim Bros.

I've heard the church brewery is a great place to grab a drink. I've never been there but my wife lost a bent and had to drive 2.5 hours there to pick up some beer.

I've definitely heard mixed reviews on Primanti brothers. I will say I just left some place called Bar Marco and that was pretty good.

Take the Duquense lift up to Mt Washington and eat at Le'mont or Monterey Bay Fish Grotto. Both are excellent and the views are friggin amazing.

Pittsburgh has some pretty good restaurants. Lived there for 5 months, and I'd recommend the following:
Meat and Potatoes
Chashba
Grit and Grace
Butcher and the Rye
Kaya
Dishotreia
Root 174
Spoon
Yeah, Pittsburgh is no New Orleans, but it still has a nice diverse restaurant scene.

Those are all chains though, so I'm sure he's had those.

you're not going to find really good Mexican food, but I understand Reyna is pretty good (we haven't been).
I'll be honest about Primanti brothers -- if you've had good poboys before, you will be disappointed.
I live in Sewickley, and if you're going to head over here, Vivo is excellent. I'm not a fan of the Sewickley Hotel (service and food can vary wildly, but patio is great for drinks on a nice day). I think Hyeholde in Moon is pretty good too.
You gotta kinda work to have a really good meal here, although over the last couple of years the quality and variety of food has begun to improve.
ETA: we really like Isabella on the Avenue on Mt Washington. Monterey and La Mont are okay, but the food suffers a bit because the view is exceptional. Isabella has the view w/ good food.

I like Pittsburgh.
Eleven & Meat and Potatoes are seconded.
Fat Head's Saloon on South side is solid bar food. Great beer selection.
My favorite restaurant in all of PGH is Sonoma Grille - Downtown by the Convention Center
My second favorite is La Tavola Italiana - Mt. Washington
