My "outdoor" week in Colorado

I've been in Colorado the last 5 days and I tried to squeeze every outdoor activity in I could. As the days wind down, it's evident I'm going to be leaving Thursday without getting to everything on my list. Weather has been high of 60-70 during the day and 40-50 degrees at night in the mountians. No humidity and a million things to do.
We did some hiking in Breckenridge and also some offroading in a Jeep.
This is the lower lake of Mohawk lakes. Didn't go higher because we had flown in only 10 hours earlier, but we made it to the snow line
We made the 4 hour drive down to Creede, Co to see some friends and got some more hiking in. We had planned a 40 mile ATV trip along an old mining trail, but the weather didn't cooperate.
The hike:
The old mine
Made it back to Keystone where we were staying and I tried fly fishing thanks to a few guys along a hiking path. Will be learning more about it soon. Not me in pic, but the guy that let me try to cast
My 12 year old wanted to play disc golf so we did that in Frisco, Co. The course is on the side of lake Dillon and the views were unbelievable and it was free to play so that was nice.
This morning, we rented a sailboat and went out on Lake Dillon. Elevation 9,000 feet. It was cool to sail surrounded by mountains that still had some snow on them.
Bald eagle
This afternoon my 15 year old and I rented full suspension moutian bikes and made two runs down the mountain. This is the first thing that I don't think I can beat him at. This was our first time and we tackled the green and blue runs. I wouldn't want anything more.
The wife(no pics) wanted to ride horses, but the schudule didn't work out so we hit the "outdoor" outlet mall with her. I wanted to kayak the 25 miles around lake dillon but gave that up to watch the World Cup game with the family. We also didn't get to go white water rafting so we'll have to make another trip soon.
Good news is no one got hurt (yet) on any of the activities. Still a day to go though......

And.......just got woken up by a large crashing sound. It happened again a few minutes later so I go out to balcony to investigate. Find a black bear turning over trash cans in the village

Nice. Looks like the family had a good time.
We did MOAB last year for my 40th. Hiking, paddle boarding, zip lining, repelling, off-roading/rock crawling, etc. it was a good time with the family.

Went last year and in the same area, looks like you had a good of time as we did. Great alternative to the beach..

That looks like the perfect summertime vacation. So much to do, and the weather is perfect.
...nothing wrong with the beach though!

I'm not a beach person either.
We're actually here to check out the area for buying a place at some point. My goal would be to spend most of the summers here starting in 5-10 years. I'd rent it out during the winter ski season to cover the carrying cost, but use it myself during a lot of the summer.
Edit: having a large lake only 7 miles away for kayaking is something I didn't think I'd find so far up in the mountains.

I like the ocean and living near it and the lifestyle that goes with it, but sitting on the beach all day is fricking awful. I don't understand how people like it. In fact, I don't think they really do, but they've been told that they should. I like being in the water, but sitting on the beach in the sun, covered in a cocktail of sweat, greasy sunscreen, and sand like tourists do is my personal version of hell.
