Yep. My grandparents are dead now, but the last time I held onto one of my grandmother's checks for over a month, I got bitched at until I cashed it. And if you say you "lost it" or never got it, you just get another one, followed by another phone call to make sure you got the second one and you're on your way to the bank.
Yep.

Op, that's stupid. It's the same as not accepting their gift in person. If they handed you a robe and socks would you just give it back to them or leave it at their house? That's rude

Does this apply only to checks or should I have sent back the stamps that I always got? ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconAngry.gif)

Accepting gifts is OT trashy? Who would've guessed that?

No.
People need money and you can never have enough of it. It's a choice for them to give up that money.

If your grandparents die tomorrow and left you an inheritance check, are you going to tear it up?

My poor late aunt wrote me a check for 5$ the last year.
I miss her. I need to record her stories about ghostly stuff
