Ings is officially announced, pending the medical...

I'm happy - Milner and ings are good business considering the window hasn't opened yet.
Ings fits us better than Fabio, Etc. Will provide good depth and could develope nicely. If we are counting on him as option 1 or 1a though I will be very disappointed.

I don't get this. Borini would probably score 11 in 35. He did about the same for Roma if I remember correctly.
Another B-team signing IMO.

Borini had scored - what, 2 goals in about 25 epl games for us? Granted many were as subs, but to think he scores 11 for us is not very accurate imo. The only thing Borini has is decent movement. I think ings can match him there and provide better pressing and has shown a better nose for the goal. Just my opinion - I have routed for Borini and have always liked his movement, but it's apparent he will not work out at Liverpool.
Eta - and as for B team - we will be in trouble if he's option 1 like I said. But for some Europa and cup games - plus a few epl starts and sub appearances, I think he's perfectly fine. We had just better being in a better starting option.

Yea, this is the bottom line. But if he's the only one, then yea, we're in serious trouble.
Sturridge isn't even going to be available for the start of the season is he?

I want to say I heard Sturridge would likely be back September/October. Don't quote me on that cause I can't even remember exactly what he had done.
And as for Ings, I'm ok with it as a like for like replacement with Borini. He and Origi as 3/4 options aren't too bad. But we still need someone quality and reliable to be a first option along with Sturridge.
I just can't see Balotelli and Lambert sticking around.

I'm guessing we'll look to offload Borini, Balotelli and Lambert... That would leave us short a striker IMO and hopefully, we're looking to bring in a "bigger fish"...
With Studge out to start the season, if we're relying on Ings or Origi to fill the void, BR is screwed...
On a side note, I read rumors that we were looking at bringing Nicola Cortese in as a replacement for Ian Ayre and Monchi as the DoF... I obviously have serious doubts, but I think both would be very welcomed changes!
Really curious as to the coaching changes under BR... Many names thrown around with Pako, being the one that is most exciting..

I think we sell Balotelli, and Borini. I think we keep Lambert simply for the "plan B" he can provide. Not saying I agree with it, but that's how I feel it will go.

Borini scored 10 for us in 13/14 when he was loaned from liverpool, and most of those were coming from left and not CF. Half were penalties. He moves well and doesn't get tired... Ever. Too bad he thought he was worth 90k/week because was gonna mortgage the farm for him.
I think you guys going to an absolute steal in Ings. He or Charlie Austin were my pipe dreams for this window.

Those ten were all comps right? Cause I thought he only scored like 4 or 5 for you in the league. If I remember correctly he scored at least three in your capital one cup run. Guess I could look it up but I'm feeling lazy and will rely upon my memory.
Klopp a agent said something about lots of premier league teams being interesting and not just top 4. Well we aren't top four klopp! Really hope he's not looking at a Newcastle or west ham or villa. I think he thrives in the challenge but still wants the resources to be able to compete.
hoping Clyne gets worked out quickly so we can concentrate on the last couple of pieces. And if not him, move onto the next piece at rb.

The quotes from Klopp's agent are actually very encouraging for LFC. One of the interesting aspects of that was that Klopp wants to work with a Sporting Director which BR rejected when he became manager. FSG wanted a sporting director but Rodger's said no and it morphed into the transfer committee. I have a feeling that we are going to screw around with Rodger's and the committee and lose out on Klopp to another Prem club and by December it might be getting really ugly at Anfield.

They can fire him at anytime and get Klopp.
Good option to have IMO. And we have all the leverage with Rodgers. Surely he will see the pressure with Klopp being out there.

I have a bad feeling that Ings and Milner will be our biggest signings in this window.
Someone convince me otherwise

What a difference a year makes for Rodgers. At this time last year he was the forward thinking manager of the future and now he has absolutely no leverage and is lucky to have a job. I guess our position isn't really all that bad, he either fixes the problem or we hopefully can attract that German fellow. BR is lucky that a Sporting Director didn't emerge from those "talks".

Yeah it was all comps, but Fabio didn't really get much time for first couple of months if I remember. Became a regular around December when they replaced the nutcase with the dumbass.

I really wish those terms were definitive enough when it came to your managers that I knew which was which. I just lump them all together.
Regardless - I'm willing to part with him for 8m - but dick has no reason to be interested in him.
