As for Alabama smoked sausage, try Kelley's. I have been using Conecuh for years, but like Kelley's better.

They make it in different sizes and mild, spicy, and cajun. It is legit.

I had several flavors. Both were unimpressive.

I think it is pretty terrible, too finely ground, too greasy, got a strange taste that cheap arse Hillshire Farms or some other Yankee sausage would have....not a fan.

Anyone in Louisiana who buys this product instead of Richards or Savoies, and especially a local smoked sausage should be face punched. I buy it sometimes because the only other choices here in NC is Echrich and Hillshire Farms.

This shite has way too much fat, makes every dish greasy as shite, even after slicing it and rendering it down.

I recently tried the Creole Country sausage after read about it in a thread last week. Got the chaurice and green onion crawfish and both were really good.

I grew up in South Alabama, and have eaten Conecuh for most of my life. Yes, it is really, really greasy. But if you slightly burn it on a charcoal grill, then slice it up into bite size pieces and stick a few toothpicks in some, the whole thing just disappears in about 5 minutes at every cookout I've been to. It gives me awful heartburn, but I just can't help myself. I will eat at least a dozen bites of it. There are plenty of better sausages out there. But for cheap and good, it is hard to beat.
