McNair/Hartman dying so young, murdered by their SOs

Darryl Kile's death hit me hard, he was one of my favorite players when he was on the Astros, him and Payne Stewart are the first athletes I remember dying while they were still playing

Remember turning on tv after work and seeing that Michael Jackson died. Wow!

Paul Walker. Not only shocking and unexpected but a major loss in Hollywood. From all accounts he was one of the most stand up guys you could be around.

I'm still holding out hope that it's the most epic publicity stunt in the history if cinema and he will return to us in Fast 7....

Marilyn Monroe. We'd just moved from NOLA to L.A. a few weeks before she O.D.'d, and to me, it was like saying, "Welcome to L.A."And over the years, L.A. hosted the RFK assassination, the Manson murders, and the deaths of Janis Joplin, Denis Wilson. Natalie Wood, John Belushi and ... well, you get the picture.

Heath Ledger's death probably shocked me more than any other in the recent past.

Another I thought was shocking: Kidd Kraddick, celebrity status is debatable, but I listen to that show every weekday morning. I thought it was a joke at first.
