Also, WTF is with Idaho in the Sun Belt?
They were a previous member, along with NM State. When Troy, FAU, FIU, and one more I can't remember all moved up and were finally FBS members after transitioning from FCS, NM State and Idaho left. And with North Texas, FAU, FIU, MTSU, and WKU leaving, the Sun Belt is grasping at straws to have enough members to have a conference in football.

The only problem with the B1G adding UConn, is that it puts the B1G at an odd number of 15. The B1G would almost certainly have to add another member. They would find somebody. Ultimately i still think we are headed to 16 team conferences. Too much money to pass on. For example, the B1G Network just completed their deals in the DC and New York markets. That is significant for the B1G!

Idaho was a charter member of the Sunbelt for football in 2001:

Utah St. joined in 2003, with Troy jumping up from I-AA in 2004. In 2005, the league added Florida Atlantic and Florida International and lost Idaho, New Mexico St. and Utah St. as they joined the WAC.

Fair point, but who would be 16?

I'm going laugh when ala carte TV comes into play and these "market grabs" for the Big 10 become worthless.

None of these teams will ever be in the Big 12.

The BIG 12 has limited options. Im not saying those schools are going to be the ones who are added, but they are going to have to add somebody. Who is that going to be? The BIG 12 was a nose hair away from disbanding. They arent at a luxury when it comes to expansion.
Oh and dont sleep on New Mexico. They are a good school in basketball and is located in a fast growing region in Albuquerque. Under the right coach and support, they could be on at least the level of TTech, TCU, Baylor. New Mexico does carry the state name. A school like New Mexico isnt as far of a reach as you think.

No they aren't. They already play 9 conference games while the Big 10, SEC, and ACC play 8, and if ND doesn't need a CCG then neither does the B12.

Those conferences are going to 9 game schedules. When the BIG 12 keeps seeing their teams left out because of no championship game, they will expand. Notre Dame will realize the same fate too.

Rather have the Big12 disband and have 4 conferences of 16

Doesn't fit and teams aren't going to be left out.

Yeah, the Big 12 will go before the ACC

Link? I've heard the SEC and ACC are definitely staying at 8

What?
Teams will absolutely be left out. If the BCS conferences decide to move to a 4 conference, 16 team each deal, Kansas St or Iowa St will not be the reason it doesn't happen

Also, why is there football stadium 30 minutes away from campus?
Space? South Carolina, an SEC team, has their stadium off campus as well. As a general rule, schools in the eastern part of the US have smaller campuses. Because in most cases, they are older.

I think it was WKU as well. They were moving up around the time that FAU/FIU were added. Going through the transitional period. They dropped the western state teams to make it more regional. The only real outliers were the Florida teams at that point. I think Utah state was only in the league like 2 football seasons.
