Just checked, ECON 705 with Shaughnessy is already full. What do you all suggest now? I want something to pair with ISDS 705 (Lin.) I dont want to take Mary White for ECON 705. Can you recommend any other course? I am undecided for my specialization. Right now, more focused towards earning courses than worrying about specialization.
I'll echo what Jeaux Cool said, ISDS 705 was essentially not even like taking a class. I would literally pull up the text book PDF, start the exam, search for each question and pop the answer in. It is a total of about 3 hours of time spent over the entire course.
Something like MADM 760 which is a lot of writing might be a good one, I'm glad that I didn't pair that one up as it was a fair amount of work, but not hard. ECON if you can get it with Shaughnessy was my favorite of the program so far, wish there was a specialization with more advanced ECON classes. Focus on getting core classes done ASAP, because those will be the scheduling constraint on degree completion, you can always through some interesting look class in to fill a slot for an elective. I ended up in a situation of doubling FIN 701/MKT 701 because of this, otherwise I will have to go all the way through Spring AP1 instead of finishing after Fall AP1.

Econ 705 (Shaughnessy) and MADM 760 (Meeks) are all full for Fall AP2 :(
Now, I am contemplating to explore an elective option to pair with ISDS 705.
a) MADM 720 (Leadership Comm) with Kim Williams is also full. How is this though?
b) How is ISDS 710 with Mo Darrat? Can one take it as the 1st ISDS without having to take any other stat course? Is it stat-intensive?
c)How is BADM 790 (PI)? It currently shows TBA for the instructor but does have seats available. Who teaches it normally? Is it math or theory? Whats the load, type of work needed?
I was able to access Moodle, but the course rotation there only shows 2018 offerings, no 2019 yet. Is there a way to get on the waiting list for a full class? I cant seem to find the "notify me" for full classes.

Hi FL Sun,
Cin8 and I did the study abroad together. I personally went early and spent about a week in Australia before the class started. You stay in dorms that were pretty nice IMO. There is no course work to do before the class. We had a group project we had to do while there, a paper to write, and a test. There were activities you could do throughout the week. I also did the extra excursion after the class was over to the Great Barrier Reef. I personally had a blast in Australia, but I could see how a lot of people would think it's a lot of money to just go there and be lectured to. So I am happy I went early and went to several other cities.
There were also undergrads that we were mixed in with for lecture, however we stayed in the same dorms but we roomed only with LSUS students. As far as the actual accommodations, you should be prepared to supply your own paper towels, you are supplied with 1 towel and 1 washcloth, there is laundry on campus, a shopping center very close, and "breakfast" is provided. Breakfast meaning cereal and fruit.
If you go, and you go early, I can let you know what I did, and what's worth it and what's not. Let me know what other questions you have.

Anybody else in ACCT701 McGee overwhelmed by the volume of emails in your inbox? I have tried to change the settings in my account so I dont get the forum emails but it looks like she has made them mandatory. And majority of the questions serve to only confuse me more about material I barely understand as is. Exam 4 was a complete debacle. I will be so happy when these next 2 weeks are over :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I'm in 701 with McGee as well and not impressed with the text or the format of the class. I should have taken it with Ambrossia but he wasn't teaching it. She decided to give us extra time on the assessments and final after week 4's A-bomb. I am so dreading the final, its going to be 120min of hell.

I finally got mine (MKT701 Part One grade) back a few minutes ago. Very pleased.
However, I am substantially into Part Two and it is looking like I am going to have trouble getting even 15 pages. Am I in trouble? (Past MKT701 folks can chime in...) I am addressing all of the points (and brevity IS okay), but I am curious to know if 20 pages should be the actual expectation...

Just realized this resource was here!
The week 4 ACCT701 assessment was completely insane. The content wasn't that difficult, I aced the quiz, but the questions on the assessment made zero sense. It was a complete curveball, I bombed it and my grade dropped from a high A to a B. I basically can't get less than a 90 on any other quiz or exam now for the rest of the course to get back to an A thanks to that.
And don't get me started on the fact that MKT701 is like having a second full-time job. It's all busy work with the content all over the place. Two more weeks...

So I am pretty well finished with part 2 and am at only 10 pages. I completed it pretty consistent with how I did part 1 of the project and my grade for that was more than passable. I bet you are just fine at 15 pages.

That makes me feel better. :) (I have ended up with 18 pages...I just need to go back and proofread, edit, etc.)

MKT701
I just got an email from my grader and he messed up the project grading. Thank goodness the revised scores are in my favor! Not a huge change, but it may make a difference.
I'm trucking along on the project, but I didn't have a lot of time this week to work on it, so I'm way behind you guys already almost done with part 2. I hope to get to the editing point no later than Monday or Tuesday evening. I definitely don't want to have to juggle the final application assignment and the project paper at the same time.

Hi M123! I am considering the international experience this fall. Could you give me some additional insight into the course. I see there is a group project, paper and test. How would you rate those? Similar in workload to some of the other classes you have taken? Also, I would love to hear about the additional cities you visited and the Great Barrier Reef trip as well! Thanks so much in advance!!

Ive been too busy reading and doing the assignment for my other class to even touch project 2 in MKT701. I'm WAY behind everyone!
My strategy is to just pound it out this weekend and edit next week. Based on my project 1 score I think my BSing is sufficient to get a good score without maxing the page count. With my overall grade in the class I'm banking on being able to put forth less effort on project 2 and still sneak by with an A.

@Winchester I'm with you - I've been focusing on FIN this week and not MKT. I've barely done the reading and hardly any of the project. The problem that we both are going to run into is that there is still one more of those 5 page assignments to do. That will surely be assigned next week along with the 15-20 page project. Just be mentally prepared.

@Jasons_MBA_Acct you are so right. Next week might be my busiest week yet. If we can make a big dent in the project before Monday we'll be ok. Especially since it seems that it doesn't need to be 20 pages.
I'm honestly a little less stressed this time around for project part 2. After I saw my score for part 1 I realized its just a matter of putting in the time.
Were almost there...

I feel for you guys that doubled up something with MKT this term. It's certainly not a difficult class, but even making it through the BS factor of this project takes forever. I can't even imagine trying to carve out the time for another course in the middle of this.
Anyway, , to all of you taking MKT701 and something else at the same time.
