MADM 701-Knotts

All Module 1 grades have been posted. Pleasantly surprised in the grading. No longer as worried about the module 2 paper. Scored well on the reflection project. But it also took me 2 hours to record a 3 minute video!

I took it Thursday night. I'm unsure how I did. I think I did well on the definitions, but not as well on the Dupont analysis. I feel slightly better about the test going forward now that I know what to expect.

Just took the MADM701 exam, was good.

Focus on the chapter text and the videos, got approx. 4/5 Q's from video, the questions were long though.

How did the exam go for you?The FIN 710 exam had hardly any math problems on my exam. This was surprising due to all the problems at the end of chapters. I felt very prepared and once i opened the exam, it was much different than expected. Give me a better understanding of how to prepare for Test 2.

Hey Multis, does that mean FIN710 was simply more on key terms and theories? Was it all multiple choice and T/F?

Yes, the test is all multiple choice and T/F questions. For myself a majority of the questions related to the understanding of the text. Certainly need to have a thorough understanding of the material as opposed to just knowing Key Terms.

For those who plan to take ACCT 701 with Ambrosio in the future, be aware that he seems like a nice enough guy, but he is very inaccurate in what he says to suit himself. For example, he told everyone that he was forbidden from allowing the modules to be open before the first day of the semester. Modules are routinely opened early by other professors. He said that the final exam can only be on the Saturday of the finals period and that is the only day the exam can be taken because of the limitations of Proctorio. We all know that isn't true at all in other classes and confining an exam for one specific day starting at 7AM for over 400 students all across the globe in an online class is really stupid.

This week, the reading and his powerpoint were out of synch (different topics) and everyone was asking him which topics were going to be evaluated. He apologized of sorts but he told everyone that the topics in the weekly test were in the powerpoint and to only skim the text and not worry about the text. Out of 9 questions, I had 3 (33%) that were not in the powerpoint at all, and referenced obscure topics and language word for word in the text. They weren't even the primary issues related to the topics. Fortunately, I found them.

During the week, he allows you to take the quiz anytime but will only open the assessments on Wednesday. In the syllabus, he tells you that there are alot of reasons why it is necessary to only open it starting Wednesday so do not ask for exceptions. He fails to state any of the reasons even in his video review of the syllabus.

You can read all the posts in this forum about the chaos he had in his last session in the Fall.

I think he is in over his head rather than malicious. But, I don't trust anything he says.

Ambrosio def has a little "Nutty Professor" in him but the guy is EXTREMELY fair. He also makes himself available and he returns emails and replies to comments. Bring any frustration to his attention via the comments component of the class, if hes at fault, he'll own up to it. Like I said he is extremely fair, If he messes up or sees that the class is not doing well, he will offer INSANE chances for extra credit. He does review scores on the mid term and final and if he determines that the vast majority of the class didn't do well, guess what he'll do?… Offer insane extra credit! Good luck with the class!

@ CDNJ & Multis10 - just finished my FIN710 exam, to my surprise there were approx 45-50% problems i had to solve, and was very time consuming, somehow was able to complete them in time but i think we need to be prepared on both sides as these are randomly generated.

Yes, i am fully aware of the extra credit etc he did for the fiasco last term. He isn't doing it for this term and there is no mid-term etc. The format is different.

While all the things you said may be true, they have nothing to do with what I said. I never said he isn't fair, and I never said I was frustrated, and I never said he is not available, and I never said he is not responsive, etc, so your reply doesn't address the things I said. I am not worried about my performance (haven't gotten anything wrong) but others might be adversely affected, and it is something people should know. After all, that is the benefit of this forum.

If you read my post, I am explaining that you cannot go by what he says. And, he has proven you can't.

Business Knight,

All i saw was a guy complaining, IN WEEK 2, about how much he didn't like how a professor was running a class. I took Ambrosio and got an "A" without the extra credit and really enjoyed it. Before you try to avise future students, why don't you at least complete the entire class first? In addition, if you really have a problem with how he's got things set up, voice your concerns on the class message board, that way it can help the other 400 students+ taking the class too, afterall that is what your trying to do, right?
