What are everyone's study techniques for ISDS 705? The first chapter in and I am overwhelmed with the amount of information. Hopefully there is a practice test of some kind to get an idea of what the tests consist of.

Robbie, I'm in the same boat as you. Hoping those who have taken this class with Lin can help us with insights. It would be helpful to know what to expect on the tests. I was told they are multiple choice.

Anyone have any insight on Econ 705 end of module assessments? I know they aren't timed, but are they multiple choice?

Anyone currently taking ECON 705 completed the video quiz and self assessment? I plan on getting to these today. I have a good understanding of the material just wondering if these were challenging.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah I finished them on Tuesday. They're not hard at all.

If you watch the videos while working on the quiz it gives you all the answers.

I know that when I had the class we also got 2 attempts those.

ETA: I responded to the wrong post. I was writing in regards to the chapter quizzes and self assessments.

Hi robbie022491,

I am feeling overwhelmed in ISDS 705 as well. I didn't realize how long these chapters were
. But I've printed out the PowerPoints in outline form. And I have printed the question and answer template. I plan to focus more on the PowerPoints and study questions, because I noticed after reading chapter one the PowerPoints basically states everything that's in the text. However, I will glance through the chapter to make sure I don't miss any topics before the exam. That is my plan, but whatever I make on exam one will determine if this is a good plan.

Agree with Jeaux Cool on the Econ 705 video quiz and self assessments. Pretty easy. Watch the video and keep the quiz open in a separate window. Answer the quiz as you go along.

Great news for those of us concerned about ISDS 705 and Proctorio being introduced. I emailed Dr. Lin and here is his reply:

"ISDS 705 tests are open-book exam. The textbook (either printed or e-book) along with your homework, all of printouts, case study, website information, messages, notes, and attachments at Module 1 & Module 2 MUST be kept handy during test #1 time period since you need to refer to several of materials during the test."

Given this, I'm trying to figure out the purpose of having the exam proctored. My only thought is to not allow web searches for answers.

Thats awesome concerning ISDS 705 Makes me wonder what types of questions he will ask though. If he is allowing us to have material I assume it will be much more of a analytical type question similar to MKT 701 last semester instead of a concept based question.

When he said "website information", what would he be referring to?

amiller, that's a very good question. Can you email and ask him?

I talked to a guy who previously took 705 with Lin. He said the questions were not hard on the exams and considered it an easier class than most others.

751 with Meeks is an excellent class. It's one of the best classes in the MBA program.
