Good idea NOLAMOM, I'm going to try that strategy for the next quiz. No point in me reading the chapters word for word like I have been since I'm still getting 50-70% :(

Also, could someone possibly send me the MADM 720 syllabus? My email is mrsmfelix@hotmail.com. I'm trying to decide between that and 710.

Any reason to think the MADM 720 course will be different than this syllabus with a different instructor?

Just got my grade for last week's MADM 752 assignment and got docked 6 points because she said my Turnitin score was 21%! I emailed her and said there's no way I would have submitted with a Turnitin score over 20%? I feel cursed in this class. A Turnitin score 1% over! Come on. I think what might be the problem is that I may not have scanned the References section at the end when I did the Turnitin scan. That must be what put it over. Ugh!

I'm on a roll now in MADM701. Just took the weekly exam and made a 90. Woo Hooo!

Somehow, I have to maintain an A average in everything from here on out. I currently have an 89.6 in the class.

**Study the definitions this week.**

Good job Aurebelman! I want an "A" in that class so bad. I haven't taken the exam yet, and right now I'm standing at a 86.96. Hopefully I can pull a grade higher than a C on this exam, because I need it. Is the exam mostly concept based?

Congrats Aurebelman, I took it on Wednesday night and made an 80%. I am currently sitting at an 86.5. I too would like nothing more than to make an A in this class, I just need to figure out how to improve a little bit on my forum posts, stop missing a couple points every week on the Wiley Assignment and bump up my test scores. How did you study this week?

I thought this week was more straight forward than last week although I did better last week.

I read the material three times. Didn't watch the videos or slides. I don't take any notes, just slowly read.

I do make myself answer at least 50 questions per assignment. Then, I review the ones I missed.
(*Note that after the assignment closes their will be a tab on the questions named 'solution'. Click on that and it will explain it.It would have been helpful the first two weeks if I had know of that.)

Anyway, right before the exam I skim over everything briefly (15 minutes) as a last resort then jump into it.

Good luck.

Has anyone received extra credit for doing a response to the discussion?

I'd do one if I knew I was going to get extra credit but I damn sure not going to invest in it if I'm not. I suppose I'm that lazy.

I've done a short reply every week so far (No references and around 200 words) and have yet to get any extra credit. Guess I am going to continue to do it hoping that if I am close to an A at the end of the semester she'll give me a little bump.

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. I am planning to take LSUS MBA from California. I have a full time job with two kids, my husband is in the Navy so I am basically a single mom. Therefore, I have to take an online MBA and this one seems to be reasonable. I plan to take one course per 7 weeks. If I want to start with ACCT 701, which professor do you recommend? Is this class not too hard? Thanks everyone!

Welcome, and good luck. I took ACCT 701 with Ambrosio, very simple, straight forward course that did not require a lot of time. I would say this is a good course to start with.

Agree with Monday. It was my first course. I had Joann McGee. It has been a while but I believe I made Bs on exams and the homework allowed me to get an A. Good luck!

socal77 I found out in a previous class that the turn it in percentage can actually jump by a small percentage AFTER you have submitted your assignment. This is due to so many other submissions to LSUS with similar, and sometimes exact, class information regarding the title, date, class number, name of papers, etc. Maybe thats what happened to you.

I was supposed to be in MADM 752 with you guys but realized I needed a break and dropped the first week. Reading all of the comments has really made me second guess taking this class. You guys are inspiring though, this one will soon be behind you!

I had Joann McGee and I am not an accounting whiz by any means. Managed to come away with a high A in the class. As long as you follow the assignments with her and read the material you will be fine.
