People say that about used boats. It's like buying a used trailer x400. No matter what you do, the lights are gonna quit working again

My bay boat seems to break something every time we fish. That's probably why. We split the costs then I'm stuck paying th other hundred or hundreds it costs to fix it.

99% of boat owners do not know every in and out of their boat/motor and boat owners are typically pretty dumb people

I love my boat, my wallet does not. Its been sitting in the shop since the tuesday after memorial day waiting on a new lower unit and new carb bowls.
Supposed to be ready this week, and for my sanity's sake it got damn well better be. I NEED to go fishing

Some little thing is going to stop working and it will be frustrating to fix. Like my live well right now and the courtesy lights

Wimps. Owning a boat is like anything else. The joy you get out of it is directly proportional to the care and pride you put in. I love my boat and it's 13 years old and develops problems here and there

Because plenty people have had one with a POS money pit motor that left them stranded somewhere.

Don't know too many people who haven't pulled their boat somewhere just to have it not start on the ramp in the morning.

Most people who have had a boat for a few years have some kind of electrical issue.

Boats can be a pain in the arse and most people have had one that was.

I would say it is due to the lack of maintenance, and the inability to perform just general maintenance.

Bull***t saying, I was very when I bought my boat. I was extremely sad when I sold it. Don't have one now and it's extremely disappointing.

I don't have the longest experience owning a boat, but I definitely hated selling mine. It was only 3 years old, so not many issues, but if you treat the boat well, the issues should usually be small. Keep it waxed and you'll never have to scrub that scum line. Open you bilge hatch and let it dry out instead of holding that last bit of moisture, it will slow down corrosion on your wiring. Treat your motor well and bring it in for preventative maintenance. You'll probably always spend a couple hundred dollars a year, but it's not the money put some people make it out to be.

On the other hand, I know someone with a pretty nice offshore boat that spends the winter parked under an oak tree. It's black come spring and not a single thing works. It's a pain to get that boat in working order and my last several trips have resulted in turning around due to problems Thousands have been spent to keep that boat in working order.

I would say they haven't owned an RV either as those things are made very cheaply compared to boats and there is something always broken on my 5th wheel. I am on the hunt for a twin engine center console at the moment.

If it breaks down on the water you can't just walk to a gas station

Boats, motors and trailers can be a pain if not maintained like everything else. That being said, I wouldn't have one if I had to trailer it for 2 hours every time I wanted to fish. Guess I'm spoiled.
