TD Ameritrade sucks because LSU can't win there and the ballpark is as bland as the new box.

No, it sucks because the game that is played there is pretty hard to actually call baseball. LSU can win in big parks. See Hoover. But it shouldn't feel like labor to watch a non-LSU baseball game at the CWS. That's how it is now.

and tiger fans were outraged by the double digit scores at Rosenblatt in the 90s right? Like I said, TD Ameritrade sucks because LSU can't win there.

Lulz.

That was shitty baseball too. Just a different type of shitty. Of course winning cures a lot, but it was blatantly obvious that changes were needed then too and I'm glad they were made.
And, again. It sucks because the game played there currently pretty much isn't baseball. Zero home runs. Zero.

No I actually used to watch the CWS most years even when LSU wasn't in it.

I used to watch it every single year with or without LSU. I'd rather read a book or watch random old Seinfeld episodes on DVR now. Sad.

not zero.
and I know its very tough for lsu fans to understand, but just because there aren't many home runs doesn't mean its not baseball.
if lsu could actually win a cws there, they'd probably love the place.

There have been zero home runs in this CWS. You think that's OK?

Home runs are a part of baseball. Do you really think it's OK for outfielders to just chill about 230 ft from home plate and rarely, if ever, have to worry about a ball going over their head?

You need to get over this argument. I used to love watching the CWS, whether LSU was there or not. This is no longer the case. As a fan of the game of college baseball, the current state of the game is pretty horrible.

It's not baseball any more than Gorilla ball was. It's a joke and it's a damn shame.

You should become friends with that Demarini lobbyist.

You don't seem to be able to separate someone being happy that LSU was winning from thinking that particular brand of baseball was shite. That particular brand of baseball was shite. So is this brand.
I don't remember people bitching about the bats and the ballpark back in 2003 and 2004 when we went 2-and-Q back to back years.

FIFY. In order to draw more attention to the sport, changes have to be made. Your run of the mill sports fan isn't going to watch 9 innings of bunts. Most want to see home runs and higher scores with the potential for a game changing swing at any moment. I am not saying go back to guerrilla ball, but lowering the seams on the ball isn't going to do much.

No, it would definitely still be a shite venue. Just a shite venue that LSU won at.
Posted on 6/18/14 at 11:32 am to T
not really, college baseball in general now is just a very, very dull product. Lowing scoring is not equal to great pitching. No one is asking for a return to gorilla ball, but I think they had a nice balance of the two a few years ago.

I enjoyed watching LSU winning. But I thought gorilla ball was retarded at the same time. Gorilla ball took small ball completely out of the game. Which is dumb because small ball should be a part of baseball just like the occasional home run should be a part of baseball.
