Maybe one day you'll go to jail for not having any money.

I have no good policy solutions, but basically every West Coast city (especially San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle) is overrun with the homeless. They need to do something because the current situation is not tenable.

Exactly, and furthermore, what does it say about a people who have nothing in them that can muster sympathy for homeless people or people down on their luck no matter what circumstances have brought them to that plight in life? To me it says calloused, indifferent, and spoiled rotten, and nothing I desire to live my life as. Sick shite....

Wow, you are not very smart, are you? The purpose of having laws is to protect individual rights. A law that takes away rights is not a just law. Being homeless does not infringe upon anyone else's rights, thus it should never be illegal.

By your logic, i assume you are for the decriminalization of all drugs? People banging heroin dont infringe anyone else's rights, so it should never be illegal right?

You say this, but you know the answer.

It's because you're harassed by able-bodied men who smell of booze and who intimidate people into giving them money. There are people who are truly in a low place, but there are a lot that make it hard to sympathize with the group overall.

Not many of us have the ability to stop and assess the genuineness of someone's need (but note, we're much better at it than the government).

You realize it would not take too much and you could find yourself homeless.

As for the tax problem - put them in privatized prison work camps. No need to raise taxes.

It would take a whole hell of alot for me to be homeless. My entire family and every one of my friends would also have to be homeless and i would have to be unable to find a job anywhere doing anything.

I don't understand why we have to build new jails for them? They are already used to being outside in the elements. Just make a fenced in area with some shade or something.

A lot of homeless people are mental cases. It is not there fault being sick. As a human being, we should help them, but yet we don't.

If some of y'all ever had to deal with someone that is mentally sick, y'all would change your outlook in life.

Not really. The wrong thing happens that causes you to have a mental breakdown and the next thing you know you're sleeping under an overpass. You'd be surprised how quickly what you thought were close friends and family will turn their back on you when they see you've lost your mind.

Point is that when you see a homeless person, don't suppose to judge them or how they got to where they are. Instead be grateful it's not you sitting there.

I'd rather them be in a contained place with a roof over their heads and a meal 3 times a day as well as excersize and a way to better themself than on the streets begging.

How does that mak me "calloused, indifferent, and spoiled rotten"?
