Here's mine:
Council Members Guidry and Cantrell:
We need Uber badly in the greater New Orleans area. Having a competitive taxi service would decrease the amount of drunk driving in the city and allow for HEALTHY competition. It is RIDICULOUS that this city still has the OLD mindset to have MONOPOLIES and let the dirty taxicab union not let in other competition that would have better vehicles, better quality drivers, and offer friendly rates to consumers.
I can't believe you won't let Uber in. So many new companies are choosing to move their headquarters or open up new locations New Orleans, and the film industry is booming here as well. Please let Uber be a part of the new business boom here. OUT WITH THE OLD, CORRUPT MINDSET AND IN WITH THE NEW AND BETTER, MORE BUSINESS FRIENDLY NEW ORLEANS.
Sincerely,
Ladytiger118

The people to email are Mose Jefferson and former Senator Heitmeyer. They control the cabs in this city. The Mayor isn't going to fight for Uber, he barely got the cabs to put non-working credit card machines in their cars

What are their emails? I'll flood their inboxes with the same email.

At this rate, BTR will get uber before NOLA. I signed up yesterday to be a BTR driver too
I feel for NOLA though, if they manage to keep Uber out. Talk about some bullshite

What a load of bullshite.
New Orleans is certainly flourishing, but can you imagine how prosperous the city would be if these corrupt bozos hit the road?

Here's what I sent:
I am writing in regards to the recently released news about the pricing proposals for Uber. The proposals are harmful and detrimental to the taxi service in New Orleans.
New Orleans cab services are notoriously inefficient and unreliable. I have lost count of the number of times I have been stranded at night from taxis who promise to show up and never do. The status quo is simply unacceptable.
Uber provides a new competitor and has proven popular in cities not beholden to corrupt politicians like New Orleans. Having a reliable and affordable transportation option could reduce the number of drinking and driving incidents. This is not simply an issue of who can pick up passengers, but instead a wider public health issue.
I ask you to please pressure the city government to stop cowing to the current taxi system and to adopt fair rules to benefit everyone in New Orleans. I am tired of being mocked by my friends who moved away to cities such as Washington DC and San Francisco for choosing to remain in my home state. Today's news just gives them more ammo to tell me why they left.
New Orleans must move forward with the rest of America and modernize its taxi system.
Sincerely,
ShreveportSteamer

FYI Mose Jefferson is dead, so it may be a while before he responds.
He died shortly before reporting to federal prison, so maybe you don't know what you're talking about.

In January 2012, an Uber driver's cab was impounded as part of a sting by the Washington D.C. taxicab commission. The commissioner said the company was operating an unlicensed taxicab service in the city.[22] Following a social media campaign by Uber's users, the D.C. City Council voted in July to formally legalize this type of service, with no minimum fare

Hopefully the whole Jefferson clan will follow Mose lead. Moved away to a town that allows Uber, so thankfully I am not inundated with news about corrupt La politicians(redundant). Heitmeyer controls the insurance that covers the cabbies

Do you really think the council members care about your first world problems? Or any of your problems?
Posted on 6/12/14 at 1:30 pm to OldSouth
They should care about the extreme brain drain this city faces. One would presume that a council member cares about the future of the city.
