Dude I'm not a great golfer, I play like 3 times a year just for fun. If I'm relatively close to the green, I'll just "short" my swing, I don't really know what the term is. Like, I'll take a normal backswing but basically stop the clubhead as soon as it hits the ball, no real followthrough. That usually gets it up pretty good, which is fine if it doens't have to go very far.

If I'm farther out to where I can't do it, I'll just aim somewhere else, either somewhere else on the green away from the bunker or just try to put it somewhere close.
