I don't think I've used a wedge in probably over 5 years.
If I'm within 20 yards of the green I take my 7 and just take a very easy, almost half swing. Essentially like I'm putting, just with more backswing and more force.
If I'm a little farther away I'll do the same thing but with a 9 and a little more force.
I'm atrocious with a wedge, I ended up just giving up on trying to use them.
