anchoring of popular threads because of titles

So this thread this thread about Terrence Magee was anchored last night at 29 posts, because of the "non descriptive title". And despite being anchored, it had garnered 15 more posts over a 10 hour window.
Reading the content, there is some good discussion going on. Do the Admins even read the threads before they anchor them? What exactly is the point of anchoring a non descriptive title? If it's getting hits, and good discussion, isnt that a good thing? If people are not interested in it because of the title, wouldn't it just fall to the bottom anyway? Doesn't it basically sort itself out?
Who exactly is being punished here? Shouldn't the admins at least read the threads? Or change the title themselves? Send a PM perhaps? or just leave them alone. Let them fall to the bottom if they suck. Often times it's just general disucssion about a specific topic. It's such a stupid rule in my opinion.

I didn't anchor that thread, but if I had been on when it was first created, I would have anchored it without reading it...what a terrible thread title...just imagine if every thread title was that shitty.

it wouldnt be hard to just peak in and see whats up.
some are doomed, but i see too many that are anchored that have good content. It's not even worth complaining about, but i feel its time it should be discussed

It's a simple rule. Not sure what the fuss is all about. 4 words - Something something general discussion.
