People really have an issue with how long Cartwright was in? Like that had anything to do with us losing that game?
This is the kind of stuff that blows my mind on this place.
The only pitching decision I had a problem with was bringing in a kid that had absolutely no business pitching at any point in that game, after Parker Bugg tired.
One could make an argument that he may have left Bugg in for a hitter or 2 too long, but my main beef was with the individual that he brought into the game.

You said he didn't get yanked until he went to a 1-0 count on the hitter after his 2 consecutive walks.
That was my bad

This is a true statement except he did throw 9 straight balls
This part is true
Cartwright started off on the wrong foot by assuring a victory and after he hit the dude on a 0-2 pitch his confidence went to shite. Under normal circumstances it would not be normal to have a dude warming up in the first inning to clarify, but after his vocal guaranty he should not even been starting. There is no way any one should ever guarantee victory.

Way to completely change your tune.

Well now you just completely changed the subject.

My original comment was about how Auggie has his staff ready to go after the third inning and that part I still hold to, but for some reason that comment was taken to another level. That was meant for the whole McCune fiasco

There is way too much parity in college baseball today. I mean there are 296 division one college baseball teams and anyone can beat anyone. If Kennesaw State ( apologies for the wrong spelling ) can advance to a super regional and Stony Brooks to the College World Series, there is a lot of parity between small colleges and so called powerhouses.
So what you're saying is that LSU can't win on talent differential alone, since parity has closed the gap, right?
Seems, all else being equal, that coaching becomes even more important.
Just saying.

Maybe take 5 and see if you can decide exactly what point you're trying to make and get back to us.

Nah, I knew what I was trying to say. Maybe didn't convey it thoroughly but for being hung over and tired I will take it

Cartwright never should have pitched. He wouldn't have if Manieri didn't go full retard and pull a dominating pitcher with 60-something pitches thrown. The big defense is that Bouman hadn't pitched deep all year, but that is a dumb argument at best, obtuse at worst. Is the claim that the rest between innings wore him down worse than the number of pitches thrown? Also, just because he hasn't pitched deep doesn't mean he is incapable. Hell, he may have had a complete game shutout in him, but we'll never know, because Manieri shite the bed. Hell, maybe he gives up 2 base hits to start the 7th, but you can pull him then. No need to ruin his best game of the year in the most crucial game of the year.
Then he sets a black cloud over the dugout with his piss-poor body language. It was an absolutely atrocious display of coaching that shouldn't happen at the high school level, much less the highest level of college ball. Defend him all you want, but I have serious doubts about his coaching ability based on that game alone.

This didn't cost us the game. We still had the lead 2 innings after the kid came out of the game.

You can't possibly know that.

Okay, 2 hits and 0 runs in 6 innings on less than 70 pitches. What are those numbers like "2 innings after"? It may very well have cost us the game, but it certainly set us up for failure. Look, I'm just being rational here.

In reply to the OP - no.
That act he put on in the dugout would have been inappropriate for the women's SB coach - at Vassar.
Get a grip Pauline.

Neither can you. Doesn't stop you from treating your own speculation as gospel.

If some of our fans ran the team we would be out of pitchers by the third inning of every game. If a pitcher worked into a full count the bullpen would be blowing up
