This has booze and my continued displeasure with LA politicians, hence the OT.

A bill that could allow more movie theaters in Louisiana to sell alcohol squeaked through to final legislative passage Friday.

In a 53-49 vote, the Louisiana House gave Senate Bill 654 exactly the number of “yes” votes it needed to pass. The bill now goes to Gov. Bobby Jindal’s desk.

Finally, they got something right.

I could have sworn I've seen daiquari machines in movie theaters before.

Heck how much will they make off of beer? Drinks are already 6 bucks, that means beer would probably be 12

State Rep. Hunter Greene, R-Baton Rouge, questioned whether someone would really buy a ticket to a Disney cartoon such as “The Lion King” and then grab a beer on the way into the theater.

Been the norm in some European countries for decades. They even have an intermission at the mid-point of he movie.

Question is, can this work here?

Canal Place is the only movie theater I'll go to in Nola. They sell alcohol and are probably the classiest movie going place in the city.

Who refuses to sign it and then blames Obama for promoting alcoholism.

Amc clearview has a bar already. And I know I'll get flamed, but I had the pleasure of going to the amc westbank on Manhattan recently and there is a full bar already there as well. And you can bring drinks from the bar to the actually movie.
