hey guys have to go to Alexandria for work next Wednesday and will be leaving Thursday.

its 3 of us and all of us want some good Cajun food.

do we have any options in town? we are on a tight schedule so cant drive too far if you rec something out of town.

if not Cajun then please recommend anything. price isn't a big deal, work paying.

TIA

Sorry but you'll be about 60 Miles North of REAL Cajun food, Alexandria is NOT Cajun. There are some options for seafood that would probably give you some decent attempts at Cajun seafood dishes at Tunks on Kincade Lake-not a far drive from downtown.

Some decent crawfish at Rosie Jos? Brocatos sometimes has some good rice and gravy on the lunch menu, good place for lunch none the less.

Spirits is a fun place with some beer selections, good bar and nice atmosphere.

Bistro on Bayou and Diamond Grill are probably the best 'fine dining' type options.

For a decent oyster or shrimp poboy at lunch you can try Fants in Tioga.

Just go to Diamond Grille and have a good meal downtown.

I'd just do Spirits, honestly. You can't do real cajun cuisine in Alec. Spirits will be a solid meal with solid drink selection with no headache. If you want something boiled, i.e., crawfish or shrimp, there are other recommendations that I can provide.

Spirits or Buffalo Wild Wings, honestly, which is probably the liveliest place in town on a Wed night. Its usually where I eat when I travel there for work.

What if we wanted to just get down and dirty and go crazy on crawfish and crab and shrimp and beer?

Anything there?

Robbie G's or Fant's are where we've always gone. RG if we're on that side of the river, Fant's if we're on the Pineville side. I've never had a bad experience.

ETA: Beer selection will be shite. But...well...

"Cajun" food will most likely be suitable at Robbie G's or Cajun Landing in Alex. Fants has very good gumbo and poboys... But it is in a very small building in Tioga - and not a place for beers with dinner.

Think Cajun Landing has a raw bar at night, although not 100% positive. They will have fried seafood, baked fish with cream sauces, etc.... And a full bar. Think Ralph & Kacoos-like.

Robbie G's is a very casual building that may be boiling seafood wednesday.... May wanna call and ask. If so - go there for beer n crawfish.

Robbie Gs has good boiled shrimp and crab, I am not a huge fan of their crawfish. Rosie Jos has good crawfish and good shrimp, but I don't think they do boiled crab. Robbie Gs may not have them either, you could call and ask. Both have beer, selection is limited but it is cold and beer.
