New county is a fricking joke, it's really just generic crap written for tween girls and dumb rednecks who love any song that mentions small town living or drinking.

I don't like their music. Their assistant tour manager is a pretty good friend of mine and he's been telling me stories about these guys and their character. Will never be a fan of their music but may be a fan of them as people. I can live with that.

I learned all about their character when they put out a press release trashing some country legends when they broke some sales record. Seem like some assholes with crappy music.

They don't have any integrity to vouch for. They suck, plain and simple. They have no redeeming qualities whatsoever and are the musical equivalent of a pimple on the inside of your nose.

Tell us some stories about their character

They have vendors who work for them (videography, secondary lighting, etc.) who are not a part of their crew and who are paid through a third party. They are not technically employed by FGL but are on the road with them constantly. FGL is playing a cruise in November and management was working out the logistics...they were placing members of management on board and telling the vendors they couldn't go. Tyler and BK insisted that the vendors come and bring wives, girlfriends, guests, etc. Their argument was that they work hard for them all year on the road, this is a vacation for them, and even though they're not technically crew, they deserve to go.

They played a show in Vegas, took everyone out for a steak dinner and told them all (28 of them) that they wanted them to have fun and gave them each a grand to play with.

After every show, my friend is responsible for a ton of shite. Lots of bands leave it to the tour mgr and crew to handle everything while they sit on the bus and party (which is a perk of being that big, you pay people to do the hard stuff for you). Tyler helps pack up and load out and then thanks my buddy and takes him out for a drink.

I've been around a LOT of musicians (and this particular friend worked for several TX country bands before he got this gig) and there's often some animosity and resentment within the bands due to members (lead singers, mostly) treating staff and other members like shite.

Bottom line, FGL treats their staff like gold. They are very good to someone who is very important to me so that makes them okay in my book.

Still don't like their music but I think I like them as people :)

I saw them open for Casey Donahew band at georges. we bought a cd of theirs, they were pretty good we thought. With that said they sold out and good for them. too bad their music went to shite but at least they got rich.

did they really sell out though? it's not like they were some well respected singer songwriters who changed their sound to make money...
