No they aren't. I make money with my credit cards every year.
No doubt. I've redeemed over $4000 in travel rewards just this year from CC rewards and haven't paid one cent in interest.

Lol @ you
No interest is charged when you pay the balance off every month. Get reward points and no interest charged to me. It's called being fiscally responsible

I'm not a pro with credit card knowledge by any means, but I use a basic Capital One card that gives me some sky miles, and a Chase Amazon card. I shop on Amazon a lot, and it gets decent rewards.

I have never once paid interest on a credit card.

Doesn't bother me one bit that you don't understand the concept of time value of money. I bet you get super excited when you get a big tax refund.

discover it offers 18 months 0% apr on balance transfers when opening up a card. 3% fee but its not that bad if you take advantage of close to 18months of 0% int.

Betting is for fiscally irresponsible people

Are you really trolling a credit card thread?
Go stick your dick in a blender.

1. What cards do you guys have with good rewards?
2. What are the best interest rates to be had with a reward card since both of mine are at 10.99 now, I don't want to go higher.
3. Most of the reward cards I have looked at have an annual fee, I don't want to get back to annual fees because I'm not a kid anymore.
These three things don't go together. If you want rewards you won't get the best interest rate. Besides, it's really stupid to carry balances on credit cards. Those balances tend to go up and not down over time.
If you get a rewards card you will have an annual fee but as others have mentioned the rewards can far outweigh the annual fees. I'm taking my wife to Hawaii in November for 70000 total miles. That's the equivalent of two round trips tickets for $700. Flights are $1100+ each round trip from Virginia. That savings alone is worth an annual fee payment to me.

How is that? I am new to the rewards card thing and can't decipher most of the stuff dealing with rewards. Did you book through the card company and get better deals?
What card is that through?

You should really go read the thread linked on the first page of this thread. All are answered and much much more. Disregard people like this Larry guy. He adds nothing to the discussion and does not know what he's talking about.

Sorting through as I can. 44 pages takes awhile to sort through

Booking the flights can be a little complicated and if you are flexible in your travel dates you can get better deals for your miles.
I won't book through the card sites for travel. You pay regular price (or a 20% discounted price on Chase Ultimate Rewards if you have the right card) and either use the cards points or get a statement credit for the money spent.
What I do is to transfer my points out to an airline partner and book the points using the airlines rewards program. American Airlines has my flights to Maui for 17500 miles each way. So instead of spending 110000 points on a cards portal I'm using the actual airline rewards at their rate for travel.
I'll be flying coach but that doesn't bother me at all. It about the destination when I travel and not the journey to get there. Some people like to use miles for upgrades or for booking business or first class but those seats generally cost a lot more miles to book. I'd rather get multiple flights from my miles.
There is also a trick with American Airlines to use a partners miles (British Airlines). BA charts their rewards by the distance of the flight. A flight of 650 miles or less only costs 4500 Avios (miles) each way. So for 9000 Avios ($90) you can take a round trip flight of 650 miles or less. You can use Avios to fly on Oneworld partners such as American Airlines and save miles in the process. A flight to Miami and back on American costs me 25000 American Airlines miles but only 15000 British Airways Avios round trip.

I understand that but you have a wealth of information in one thread that will answer all of your questions and more.

i went with the barclays arrival. it's 2X points on every purchase no matter what the purchase is, and you can redeem the points on just about any airline, hotel, rental car, etc...as long as the purchase is considered to be for travel. there are other nice perks like the 40k points bonus and a 10% redemption bonus. this card worked for me b/c 1.) i'm not a frequent flier on a certain airline nor am i loyal to one in particular and 2.) often my vacations will consist of a long road trip and a hotel stay, so being able to redeem for hotels and rental cars as well as airlines was a major selling point.
