Did y'all bill just go up? Mine just went up $48. I'm fricking fed up with this shite. My bill went from $235 to $282 and no SEC Network yet. I'm gonna be switching to DTV or Dish soon. Which is better and can y'all give me a monthly price? It can't be that damn high.

Call them and tell them your switching. They will offer a lower price with a contract. Up to you from that point.

If you sign up for dish or direct tv make sure you look around before signing up on their website. For example, if you sign up through SAMs sometimes they'll give you a free iPad on top of all the direct tv / dish promotions. If you sign up at the mall kiosk, they were offering a saints jersey and $250 to the saints store on top of all of the other dish promotions. Just something to look into. Btw I had the same thing happen with cox in January. I'm now a proud roku 3 owner with hulu plus, and amazon prime.

Yep did that last month. When you tell them you are cancelling they transfer you to "The Loyalty Team" where you deal with them on lowering your bill. I did a 1 year contract. I'll decide if I'm going to stay with them then

Do you have land line telephone with them also? Bundled?
My Cox is about $100 a month less than the numbers you posted and I have all the sports packages and Cinemax. I don't have telephone with them.

The bill with Cox goes up every other month seemed like..

i have directv and use cox for internet
Just realized that i can pickup basic cable if i plug coax directly into TV for when the weather causes the dish to go out.

you have to take all these price comparisons with a grain of salt. when you first sign up or call and bitch, you usually get discounts for 6 months, a year, 18 months, etc. all of a sudden, one month your bill will skyrocket. you don't know where everyone else here is in their pay schedule, but yours does seem really high. you might have an expensive internet package that's bumping the price up.
eta: just read the last page. good for you.

When did you start your service? We just hit 6 months and it ended our sign up deal with internet and HBO going up around the same

I cancelled everything except internet. I bought Apple TV for $100 and Hulu Plus for $8/month. I stream everything. $66/month for 25mbps internet. Best decision I've made. No phone either. If you fell you need a phone look at Ooma. It's internet based and something like $3 per month.

Holy fricking balls! I would have cancelled WAY before it got to $200.

They went up on mine and I told them I was canceling. Didn't offer any incentive to stay so I quit. Now saving $85 a month and getting more features through Eatel.

Glad you got it down and got all the upgraded equipment.
You will love the contour so much more. You can pause and rewind on any of the receivers and it organizes everything sooo much better.

Honestly, I pay in excess of 200 for cable and internet, and I'm an idiot for it because I watch probably 3 or 4 channels when I eat dinner, and then it's off.
I'm about to pull that damn plug for good. It's an absurd waste of money.
