He is 100% a Laker a year from now IMO

There have been persistent rumblings that Love will pursue a larger market situation that may offer a better chance of winning when the time comes, but the word out of the Timberwolves is that they’re going to do everything they can to convince their franchise player to re-up with a max contract to stay in town.

Kevin Love’s people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he’ll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there’s your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Love wants to play for the Lakers but he’s also open to coming to the Knicks.

Will any championship he wins be invalidated if he signs on to a team with any talent?

They have to get better first and one high pick isn't going to get it done. It would be stupid on his part IMO if he trades one losing situation for another just so he can live in LA.

I could see him in new york

How does his yr/$ left on contract compare to Bosh? That would be a scary thought, right?
ETA: Bosh probably has a no-trade...

He was gone the second Minny declined to give him a 5 year max deal because they were saving it for Rubio.
Basketball speaking, you can't blame him. Dude hasn't sniffed the playoffs since he's been in the league.

I can see him going with Kyrie Irving to the Lakers.

He gave Minny plenty of time.

So the smaller market Midwest teams are basically farm teams for the marquee teams?
Posted on 5/18/14 at 8:38 am to gthog61
I got trashed last week for saying that this is why I hate the NBA.

So the Lakers are praying for Love and Irving to save the franchise
Posted on 5/18/14 at 8:59 am to gthog61
Those teams you speak of are mostly poorly run franchises.

Instead of 'I Love L.A.', it'll be L.A. loves Love

I doubt if he remembers Kareem forcing a trade out of Milwaukee after several seasons & a Ring.
The Spurs have proven that a relatively small city organization can have success if run properly.
