yep, I've got a friend that has put two through Teurlings(one still there,) and then the kids go to LSU-E, and Ooh La-La.

yeah. Never considered traffic to be a huge factor in where I went to high school. I just wanted to go to the best school, didn't matter how far.

jk, the hover mother is the one who's considering making the switch, because she doesn't like the traffic, even though he's the one driving

right, you sound like the 10th grader now, you weren't joking, you got your thong in a knot because several people called you out for being a hover mother, and now you're trying to back-track
oh, just joking, btw

Did you seriously just ask if attending catholic was going ton help your kid with a job etc? Pfft, I would go ahead and delete that post.

I worked with 3 professionals that all graduated from Catholic. If that place is the best the alumni base could do I wouldn't fear a change to st mikes.
Long story short, I don't think it makes a difference for the vast majority.

The insularity of BR always makes me . As if anyone outside the city limits gives a shite about CHS vs St Michael/Bishop Sullivan or whatever the hell they call it.
At least NOLA is its own little world, so the obsession over where errbody went to HS is understandable, if also way overblown. But BR is just an average southern town with average schools, public and private.
With the exception of BRMHS. If you're serious about giving your kid a leg up in the world, get him into therei.

CHS is over glorified on TD.

Stay at Catholic. I drove all the way from Central just because the education was so much better.

I have no dog in this fight other than I I have never heard of St Michel's. I know many people from Catholic high.
I drive 500 miles plus a week 100 miles round trip to work so that my kids can go to the best available high school. I have easily lost 100k a year in business as I dont live where I practice. I sold my boat to pay the first years Tuition and I was a rapid avid fisherman. My life is no where near what I like and I feel like a traitor in my home town and a guest in my home. It would cost me another 150k just to get them finished.
It is the best decision for my children I have ever made. Yours is much much easier. You and your son need to think about simply as an investment in the future. Catholic High people are very cliche. It will pay off in the long run.

Stay at CHS, especially if you plan to stay in BR.
I fall back on my CHS education all the time. Things like morality, integrity, faith, and general world view were all shaped there and have carried me through the rest of my life.
St. Michael's does seem to be a better school now than it was when I was in HS 15-20 years ago.

Should be up to your son. If he wants to stay at Catholic, thats his decision. Hes the 1 that has to sit through all that traffic, not you. If he wants to transfer to St.Michaels, thats his decision.
I have family members that went to both. I went to Catholic. But was associated with both because of brothers that went to St Michaels. Im glad I went to Catholic over St. Michaels, but thats just me. But there are good and bad people from both schools, just like there are good and bad people everywhere. . Just seems that Catholic has less bad people or whatever. Theres a reason Catholic has the reputation that it has. I think its 1 of like 7 or 8 schools in the country to be named a Blue Ribbon School by the U.S Dept of Education 4 times or more.
But its your kids decision.

I actually got the job I have now because I went to catholic. One of my interviewers is now my boss and during the interview he asked me a couple questions about CHS and he liked the answers I gave him. Later on after I started working for him he said the main reason I got the job was because I went to catholic and the way I answered the questions in the interview. He also informed me that he is a chs graduate. So it obviously doesn't directly help everyone get a job but it was the deciding factor in me getting the job I have.
