what about Shout
Definitely can't forget that one.
There's two ways to end a wedding reception... Shout walking out of the building or second line out. Either way, handkerchiefs should be in the air.

I always thought it wasn't a wedding until somebody played "Walk it like a Dog"

That's for the after-after-party, preferably held at the Red Eye.

the last two weddings it's been the first song played...

I'm not sure. I don't really hear of it being played in thibodaux or acadiana. I don't know if it's played in the river parishes or by the yats and plaques. The only people whom i know for sure play it are native born citizens of ascension parish and lower livingston parish (port vincent, french settlement, ect)

I'm ashamed to admit I'm from Da Parish now.

They have their own little Cajun things they do, Zydeco and shite.

For them it's "ya-ya", "two step mamou", and that one cajun waltz that's only ever sang in french.

I have been to one or two Louisiana weddings without it being played, but it's played at a way higher ratio at Louisiana weddings, than at weddings I've been to in other states.

Probably the same people who schedule their wedding on LSU/Saints gameday and then don't allow TVs.

No wedding is complete without Kool & The Gang - Get Down On It either IMO.
