Not sure if it has been posted yet. I kinda like the endzone the way it is, but with 15k on the waiting list for season tickets we need more seating.

quote:

Sources put the cost of the Master Plan between $350 and $400 million dollars.

The most noticeable upgrade to the fans would be in the south end zone, where additional seats would form a bowl, and for seating to increase from its current capacity of 82,112 to close to 88,000.

Current suites are expected to be upgraded with new suites made available in the south end zone area.

A new press box would also stretch the entire length of the west sideline.

Substantial facilities upgrades in the south end zone, where the players currently dress, meet and press conferences are held, would result in a state-of-the-art weight room and training facilities – a huge recruiting tool in today's environment.
.

Any other schools doing anything similar?

350 to 400 mil for less than 6,000 seats, some suites and a press box? shite A&M is practically rebuilding Kyle Field for $450 million. You're doing something wrong Sooners.

I'm reading that as if the 350-400 is the cost of the whole master plan, only part of which would be an upper deck expansion.

In the SEC all of these schools are either currently expanding or will be within a year or so:

LSU
A&M
Mississippi State
Mizzou
Ole Miss
Arkansas

Kentucky is actually reducing capacity and adding more premium seating.

This is the first time I've seen an 82,000 official capacity number. It's usually been in the 84,000 range with us getting 85,000+ attendence.

With this 88,000 official maybe we can get over 90,000 attendence.

Will the student section be expanded?

Pretty much the only thing Arkansas has going for it is the SEC logo on your field. Arkansas would kill to have the tradition OU does.

LSU is expanding right now. going from roughly 92k to 100k. It should be done by the first home game.
