i can have depression issues b/c that's one of the few things in my genetic heritage that is poor/negative, but man, working criminal defense and personal injury puts life in perspective.

depression is natural mood and everyone experiences it, obviously some more than others. the problem with some people being depressed is that they medicate instead of letting it run its natural course.

that's reason #151 why we have so many fricked up humans in this world.

once you learn what depression is, even if it's a normal thing and a biological defect, it's easy to accept it

fwiw, my family (within a circle up to my first cousins) has multiple people with depressive diagnoses and 2 bipolar diagnoses

I used to know when I was overwhelmed because I would binge on media... whether it was movies or marathon watching of a t.v. series...

Now when i catch myself starting to do that, i go for a run and I am usually able to blow off enough steam to shake that funky energy.

I also cook/bake a lot when im stressed, which seems like a wasted effort these days because of the weight loss journey.

I really like to do something physical. Going for a run or just shooting some hoops is a great outlet for me. Just turn the ol noggin off for a while and just run or shoot

i hit the gym to weight lift or i'll go take a walk in a quiet neighborhood near my house. hate being stuck at home with things on my mind.

I go hiking.

Listen to some good music while taking a long hike by myself. Helps me feel at peace.

When I'm not able to hike I read, pray, exercise. Cuddle Butters on the couch while watching tv. All of those help me.

Work sometimes helps as well. Seeing the stuff I see at work, makes me even more grateful for the blessings I do have in my life.

working criminal defense .

Is a life altering decision. I gravitated towards crim and love it, but goddamn. Sometimes I just don't know. It can be like winning the Super Bowl or getting kicked in the nuts on any given day.
