Probably the dumbest thing you can say if you're getting fired.

I got fired from good year a ways back. I was late 2 days in a row. First day completely my fault, 2nd day my car wouldn't start, called in saying I'm getting a ride be a few minutes late. Fired me when I got there but said he needed me to work the shift because he was short handed, I walked out. Other than that I gave notice if I was moving on. Which is the rt thing to do.

I find it funny now when I have an employee quit with out notice, yet they get mad if I don't give a good reference.

I gave an employer a month notice that I would be leaving and after about a week he got pissed and went off saying "you know when someone gives me notice I usually tell the to F-off". After his little bitchy tirade he asked if I wanted to work out the notice or end it there. I said I'm done. The job was connected to my living situation so I left the work site at 8 and was moved out by 4. The king of highland road is a genuine turd.

Not sure it's quitting, but I won't renew my contract anymore after getting a higher paying job for next year.

Got run off for an incident w/ a 24" pipe wrench.

I probably couldnt have actually wrapped it around the guy's neck, but I was damn sure gonna try.

When I was 15 I was working at a sandwich shop. The owner was a total jackass and talked down to all the employees. It was my second day and apparently I was using the wrong sink to wash some glasses...he said "are you fricking stupid that is the wrong sink". I got in his face and told him to frick off and if he ever talked to me like that again I would beat his fricking arse. That was my first job

Quit once after my manager punched me.

He then chased me out to my car and tried to headbutt me.

He had no kitchen for Saturday dinner rush because of that incident.

Not always. If you need Cobra it's better to resign.

And no, I've never been at risk of being fired.

That's so racist, but so freaking true. I could give you my thought process on looking at prospective employees, but it would probably be frowned upon here.

I agree, when I entered the workforce I was shocked to see how some people are so nonchalant about getting fired sometimes. I would consider that a tremendous blow to my self-esteem and pride. And these days, unless you're fricking your boss's wife on his desk, it's even pretty hard to get fired from most places. Construction may be different though.

Currently I am but I haven't been all of my life. I have had lots of jobs in my life and was never fired, I would be pretty upset if I had been.

Tigrlee quit a good job to go to the LSU football game at Arizona State back in the day. I'll have to ask him about the specifics but there were T-Shirts made with his quote when asked by a reporter. I wish I could remember it or still had the shirt.
