Bregman uses hitting instructor in New Mexico for recent improvement

According to today's BR Advocate. Do any of the LSU hitters use and trust Javi? Seems like a lot of them are relying on help from people outside of the program.

I don't see how you can blame Javi for this. It's only like the third time this year that a player has gone outside the program for help batting.

I hope all of our players eventually do this.

To be fair, the article does say "and Sanchez" as far as who has been helping him.

Anybody else notice how our players' hitting improves in summer ball without Javi? Maybe the caliber of pitching falls off from SEC play. Who knows.

The bulk of the work and improvement is credited to the New Mexico instructor not Javi.

Who else besides Stevenson?

And they forget everything as soon as they get back on campus?
And this isn't something I've noticed. LSU has been a top hitting team in the country outside of this season
Here are some cape cod stats from 2012:

It's pretty hilarious to me how people forget this so quickly. We lose 3 of our 4 best hitters and struggle at the plate, 2 or 3 guys get outside hitting instruction and all of a sudden it's time to burn Javi at the stake.
ETA: Let me rephrase that. It isn't exactly "all of a sudden". People have always hated Javi for whatever reason.

Nepotism is a reason.

Then you quickly forget all the other years Javi was here previous to that one, right? If you don't think he's a problem for LSU then you don't watch much baseball. Seeing him at third base was all you needed to know there. He's partly responsible for getting these guys in here too so the recruiting the right players is at least partly on his shoulders. He's either not getting the right caliber of players here to develop or he's just not a good coach. I'm going with a combination of both. Players would not be seeking help outside the program if Javi was helping them and doing his job. Do you remember Grewe and what happened there when Matty Ice decided to get help with his pitching outside the program? CPM got all over his arse.
If he was such a good coach then he would have demand in college baseball. Do you see anyone knocking his door down for a promotion? It's a lose lose for Javi Sanchez regardless how you see it. I'm willing to bet a vast majority of fans who follow the program will tell you they're not a fan of him. And to be fair, it's not all on his shoulders it goes on CPM too. Someone has to be held accountable and it's not going to be be CPM.
I don't know about you but seeking help outside the program with your batting midway through a season seems like a problem to me. It means you don't trust the guy with you everyday working on it.
