Then you quickly forget all the other years Javi was here previous to that one, right?

No, I haven't. I had a post a couple months back listing our rankings in the SEC in hitting categories since he's been our coach. I'll see if I can dig it up. We've consistently been one of the best 3-5 best hitting teams in the SEC since 2008.

Seeing him at third base was all you needed to know there.

What?

If he was such a good coach then he would have demand in college baseball.

Maybe he likes being the hitting coach at the best baseball program in the country and working for a dear friend. Crazy, I know.

I'm willing to bet a vast majority of fans who follow the program will tell you they're not a fan of him.

This means quite literally fricking nothing to me. We have a mind-numbingly stupid fan base. But... Cool?

Who are some great hitting coaches on staff at other schools (serious question)?

Who has been more consistent at the plate in SEC over the last 6 years than LSU?

Bottom line in all of this is we place too much value in the idea that a hitting coach can vastly change the fortunes of a team. A little tip here and there helps, but often it's self-motivation and drive to improve.

Well he's done a hell of a job developing Chinea into a catchers inference liability every pitch.

Hey, I agree that we should shell out the cash for a top hitting coach.

I don't think there's a magic secret to making guys hit though.

I don't know about you but seeking help outside the program with your batting midway through a season seems like a problem to me.

What's wrong with having another set of eyes? An outside influence isn't an inherently bad thing.

It means you don't trust the guy with you everyday working on it.

No, it doesn't. But that fits your narrative nicely. So, good on you.

Because if the guy working with you everyday is knowledgeable and smart, he'll be doing his job in helping your swing. It absolutely means you don't trust the guy who's with you everyday because you feel he's not doing his job or at the very least, not making you comfortable he's helping improving yourself. So yes, it's a trust issue. Naturally you'll seek outside influence. Why else would you? If you felt comfortable with the guy who's at practice with you everyday why in the hell would you venture outside the program? Maybe it's because Bregs realizes the guy is very limited in knowledge.

And to be fair, I don't think they have some magic hitting coach that can make everyone go from a 170 hitting to 400. I think it's reasonable to think they at least help though.

It's one of his coaches from high school, huh? Didn't he work out with him earlier in the year or something?

Like I have said on here many times before. At LSU we should be hiring the top assistants. If you think Javi Sanchez is the best hitting coach available, I would love to hear why. Look at what some of the other teams in this league are doing at the plate against the same pitchers.

It's Jason Columbus. Former LSU player, his former coach, and the reason Bregman is at LSU.

Jesus people are fricking retarded on here.

I don't know that I could name another hitting coach in college baseball other than Cliff Godwin. Can you? Without google?

How many of these other teams lost three players the caliber of Katz, Rhymes and Jones?

This actually happens quite a bit in baseball. But at a school like LSU you should have a good enough hitting coach to where it shouldn't happen this often.

What about Bradon Harris getting shipped off to Cali. for QB camp / passing instructions? Does this mean Cam sucks and Harris doesn't trust him?
