Depends really. We played Rush all the time, which was far from slow paced. I'd argue the reason conquest could be slow was just due to their inability to have 64 people on a map at the time.
BF3 was slow when you want to snipe the entire time, which I was definitely guilty of.

And I won't say it is exactly slow either, but compared to COD it is at a snails pace.

Counter-Strike.
Valve's workshop and content creation system has really elevated CS:GO to a stratospheric level. The general desire for a realistic, tactical based FPS game from gamers in general has also helped.
There's just nothing quite like the experience of playing a 5v5 ranked match and ending up as the last person alive on your team, and facing off against the last remaining player on the opposing team. You're forced to walk, not run - your is heart pounding, listening for ANY noise whatsoever (footsteps, reloading) that could provide you with an indication of where your opponent is located. It's tense and extremely rewarding.
It's the second most played game on Steam for a reason.

Just saw a trailer for this game. I like it, even if just the single player.

Titanfall is a good fast pace fps. But I meant to say good, modern, fast pace fps.
I still think Respawn should have went the modern route, there's articles online about how some of the devs wanted to kill cod with a good modern fps but at the time there wasn't any good futuristic shooters out and that's where EA thought the money was.
