Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal (R) signed a sweeping gun rights bill on Wednesday.

House Bill 60, also known as The Safe Carry Protection Act, will allow licensed gun owners to carry their firearms into public places, including bars, nightclubs, schools, churches and government buildings.

I'm okay with what I've heard about the law except for not having to show your permit if requested.

I don't see an issue with this.

The right to own and carry a gun should be protected and expanded.

The issue with "gun rights" activists is not that. It's their idea that assault rifles should carry the same type of protection.

Guns in bars and nightclubs is an extremely bad idea.

I'm impressed that the bill allows guns into government buildings. We'll see if they follow through, but it's rare to see politicians ante up like this. If guns are now ok to be in schools and churches, they should also be allowed in the state house, courtrooms, and all other previously sensitive areas. Politicians should be on the front line like anyone else.

There's one thing that this bill is retarded about, and its the fact that a cop can't ask to see your license for the sole purpose that you have a concealed weapon. Seriously, what's to stop some crazy dude from walking into a mall with an obviously concealed handgun, and then shooting up the place? I hate the cops, but I think they should know if you have a permit to carry around a lethal weapon of that caliber.
