~Spin Off Thread~ Huge misconception about a loud moment in TS

Fans cheered and it was decently loud, but the announcement of the USC score isn't in my top 5 maybe top 10 loudest moments. And I'm only 32, so there could be some before my time. Just a few that were WAYYY louder...
2003 UGA game Skyler Green catch
2005 Auburn game Jon Vaughn's missed FG in OT to tie the game
2007 Auburn game "The Catch"
2011 Arkansas game TM7 punt return for TD when Ark was up 14-0.
I even think 2012 vs Bama, JC Copelands broken tackle on the swing pass. It was insane on that play.
The USC score wasn't that loud because many ppl knew the result before it was announced in TS. Is anyone with me, is that "loud moment" overrated??

Add the Bama blocked field goal ('08) to that list as well.

The actual loudness of the moment is overrated. A number of big plays over the years have generated louder moments. The longevity of the loudness is what was impressive.
No. One of the the most memorable moments in Tiger Stadium history.

That was pandemonium. That game still upsets me.

I'm 40 and I disagree with you.
The score announcement was the loudest, and more impressively, had the longest duration of any game. That reaction by the crowd was loud, and then it just started growing. It had a life of its own for at least 30 seconds. I've never seen anything like it. and I was at all of the games you listed plus the 97 Florida game which honestly was louder than any of those on your list.

This was real loud. I smelled nothing but Jim Beam after that play.
I would argue UT in 2000 deserves consideration, but 03 UGA and 07 UF were incredibly loud.

Bama 2000 was interesting as well. It wasn't the loudest moment, but when the officials were reviewing the play from the jumbotron, I thought the crowd would murder one of the refs.

It wasn't just the announcement... It was a crucial time in the game and the fans realized how big that moment was. We could beat tebow, claim #1 in the regular season for the first time in 50 years, night game on national TV... It was the perfect storm of energy and emotion.
It was announced during a commercial break and Florida had the ball (if my memory is right) I remember tebow and the Florida offense couldn't hear their sidelines when play resumed. It was a sustained, deafening volume.

I've said it ad nauseam here but nothing in the last 20 years beats the blocked field goal against Bama in 2008

We were sitting on the East side for the '07 Florida game; and I am here to tell you, the sound that enveloped DV when that announcement was made (IMO) should be deemed one of the top 5 loudest 'moments' in DV history.
It ranks right up there with the ones you mentioned.
What made it special was the 'sustained' cheer when that score was announced. Florida was getting ready to get the ball and that made it even more insane.
Some other 'moments' that deserve mention:
* Eddie Fuller's 4th down TD catch in '88 "Earthquake" game vs Auburn.
* First LSU TD scored after Katrina - Monday night vs Tennessee in NEZ, run to left side.
* 80 yard stiff-arm run by Toefield vs Tennessee -2000.
* End zone INT by Troy Twillie in NEZ vs Auburn in '95 'Bring Back The Magic' game
* SEZ TD catch by Landry to take the lead vs the Skoal Drool Things in '12.
* Any of the TDs scored vs Florida State in '82 orange game.

Down year. Bama ranked number 1 with Saban in his first game back to Tiger Stadium. Emotions were high. Entire stadium standing.. On edge.. End of the game..
As far as 5-10 seconds of actual decibels. This moment is the loudest in the history of Tiger Stadium.
