As a white guy...I understand that any Black man (or white) that gets up every morning and sees the world through this ENVY/VICTIM/WHINER/glass half full perspective...will set the table for another BAD DAY. Crappy attitude = crappy life.
And a serious distraction from the competition that we all engage in. A competition that is ultimately with our own self, I.e., our limitations. Black folk have genetic (athletic) and advantages. Obviously. Should Whites gripe, whine and begrudge? Muddy the team unity water? Or treat their brethren like MLK suggested; by their CHARACTER.
Some people have an edge in life. Period. Intellect, athletic ability, luck of the draw; there will always be somebody with an edge.
You show me a Black LSU Tiger competing/starting every game with this crippling pov on their mind...and I'll show you somebody who won't be starting for very long. Or happy (successful) even if they do. This mentality is that of a LOSER, who seeks to justify (in their own mind) their own loser status.
Even the poorest of the poor can be an extraordinarily good individual; much loved and respected by them in their circle of acquaintance.
This whole 'privilege' thing is bs; pernicious and based on the feeling Envy. Been here from the beginning. Cain and Abel. Them that (for whatever reason)...worship/believe this stuff...go to 'hell'. No slack. Period. Play the game, and win or lose accordingly. Truth rules. Even God.
Yuk!...to whoever pushes this crap.

You know, the world is a lot bigger than just America. Black people all over the world, including their own continent of Africa, have had every opportunity to be at the forefront of business and commerce, new inventions and innovation, literature, medicine, etc. Who is really to blame for their inability to lead the world in anything?

Was it white privilege that allowed Shakespeare to become, arguably, the greatest writer of all time? Or other people who have changed the world with new ideas and inventions? People like Guttenberg, Sir Isaac Newton,America's Founding Fathers, Thomas Edison, the Wright Brothers, Henry Ford, Albert Einstein, etc, etc?
Was their some law that kept a black person from being greater than Shakespeare, or any of the other people I mentioned? Even if some whiner wants to say that big, bad America would not have allowed a black person to succeed, what about Africa? What kept a greater literary genius than Shakespeare from emerging out of Africa? Was their some law that prohibited cars, planes, electricity, the cure for polio, the Internet, etc, from coming from the mind of an African? Is "white privilege" so pervasive that it even kept people in Africa from achieving greatness?

Yeah my Father had so much privilege while growing up he and most of his relatives got to pick cotton along side of black folk. Then he was so lucky to get out of the cotton fields by joining the Army and becoming a paratrooper during the Korean War! Man he was lucky. Lucky to have not shot while jumping out plane likes many of his lucky,privileged white friends. Some races will always play the victim without even doing in depth research about bullshite lies.

Like I said, I think this girl is full of shite with most of these. But there is some truth in there.
As lordguill said, there is PLENTY of truth in that one.
I don't think we actively teach this, but children of color do seem to associate lighter skin color with beauty. There have been studies on this, and it's very sad IMHO.
White folks sure do love stealing black folks' music.
I think she wants you guys to stop watching interracial/BBC porn.
