Jaws: Mettenberger over Manziel, Bridgewater

I do not know what to think of this, because Jaws is notorious for saying purposely outlandish things solely to invent news (Jaws says something stupid, ESPN reports it on Sportscenter all day long, other outlets pick it up as a news story, ESPN reports it as news the next day...Deadspin has been tracking these things)
He did it last year calling Kaepernick the best QB ever, and he did it a few weeks ago with his Manziel hit piece.
Now, he says Zach is better than JFF or Bridgewater.
Again, I'd like to believe that, but Jaws's reputation is so poor right now, i just do not know what to think.

I never got the Bridgewater thing, he isnt very accurate and is brittle. JFF can throw but he is a project not an immediate producer.
I'd take the UCF guy then Mett.

I just don't see Mett going higher than those two guys. That's not necessarily a bad thing. With the way rookie contracts work now, I'd rather see him go to a good organization where he can develop properly than go higher in the draft and get a bit more money.

The thing I worry about with Mett is awareness, I'm afraid he is going to get beat up in the NFL.

I hope the Cardinals draft Mett. Make it LSU West.

First of all, THIS times tenteen to whoever said Bridgewater wasn't accurate.

But also, and I said this before...
Mettenberger has NFL stuff.
Arm strength is equal to anyone else being drafted, if not better.
Height is solid at 6'5" and weight isn't bad either. He can build from it and get stronger.
He reminds me of an old story I heard once:
Two guys running to first base. One guy is near perfect and scores high in every single category while the other guy is terrible and scores poorly, however both men make it to first base at the exact same time. Who do you draft?
Answer: Take the guy with all the poor scores because with a little coaching he beats out Mr. Perfect every time.

I'd be so incredibly pumped if the texans got him round two

Wouldn't shock me. Especially since they've let the cat out of the bag about leaning towards Clowney.

Matt is a taller Patrick Ramsey. If he gets a good online he will succeed, if not he will be out of the league in five years.

Is Mett going to be in new york for the draft?

Mett would excel behind a better than average OL. And by excel I mean, better than Christian Ponder but worse than Dalton.

I think he could succeed in a place like Houston or Cleveland. But, I still don't see the 2nd round grade hes receiving.
Then again, crazier things have happen. Like Ponder going in the 1st Rd

That has been the critique ever since his pro day.
Bridgewater pro day recap
And that is just one of many... Not saying that is fair for him to be labeled that after one day of playing catch, but that is where a lot of that is coming from.

I really don't put that much stock into a players pro day [good or bad]. Especially at the QB position.
He's always received high marks for his quick decision making & accuracy. I do believe that his deep ball accuracy could use some improvement. But, that can be improved at the next level.

I actually thought it was a pretty good story. Very true.

I think it makes poor sense. Guy scores poorly on every test on every test so you give him the job?? Over a guy that did well on the tests?
Why even give the test?
I realize it's an "old story" but that doesn't make it good.

Jaws does have to come up with stuff to say, and so he gives out alot of filler, but when he talks from film study he is usually pretty good.
