Car spinoff: Is there any reason to buy any other SUV besides a Land Cruiser?

I'm not being facetious, but it's built for dictators, warlords and soccer moms alike. From the Sahara to the Safari to Southdowns. I can understand the Land/Range Rover argument as a close second but even so only the Defender really compares.

"Because I don't want to" is good enough of a reason for me.

GTFO. I'd buy a 4Runner way before some unreliable overpriced heap like a LR/RR.

No. It's pretty much built for soccer moms these days.

I think they are uglier than a one night stand picked up from the prop stop...

I'd personally look for a Q7 TDI V12, but I like power

When the revolution starts and we're trying to move to Montana or one of the other safe states you'll hate that Audi.

I'm an LC fan, though admittedly the 75k price tag and horrific front end are turn offs.

my 2000 inline 6 cherokee 4X4 will do. bought for $7000 a decade ago and have done nothing but very simple routine maintenance. goes anywhere. towed a 6X12 uhaul cargo trailer cross country and made other cross-country trips in it. off road from mud to snow to wet mountain roads (slick rock).

but i guess that doesn't really answer your rhetorical question about the minivan.
