I am with you on the Suburban argument. I'm not a fan of the newest model, but I've had incredible luck with GM full sized trucks in the past. The Suburban can haul anything I need, tows 5 tons, and based on my experience they should last 10 years with decent maintenance. They've been selling them for 50 years and seem to have a very loyal following.
I think the Land Cruisers are great, but they are just not worth the asking price.
And yes.....there are plenty of SUVs out there worthy of consideration and admiration. The Suburban, Wrangler, Defender and 4Runner are just a few.

I wasn't either until I got into one... And that's the thing I've owned 2 Toyota products, 1 lexus , Toyota and I must have been snake or something, b/c they both gave me fits and never again.. unless I come across a Supra on the cheap..

I hope you like it. The inside looks great.....I just don't care for the exterior. Maybe the Z71 version will appeal to me. Either way, I'm sure it's a great truck.
The newest Sierra pickup is growing on me. That's a nice looking rig. I think the one I like is the "All Terrain" model.

Land Cruisers are for boring people.
If you spend $80k on a vehicle it shouldn't be indistinguishable from a $50k Sequoia.

What about the newly designed Expedition and Navigator? I believe they are putting the ecoboost 6 cylinder in them.

Who the hell has that kind of money to blow on a vehicle? WTF do you people do for a living?
I always wonder the same thing. I believe that these are either single vehicle households, or their second vehicle is much more modest and cheaper.

The G Wagon looks just like a Wrangler Unlimited with a hard top, and costs much more than $80k.

Yea, totally the same.
ETA: And if you say they are, then the G Wagon is no different than a C class inside.

Haven't been in the new land cruisers but the FJ80 from the 90's was bad to the bone.

Big hit with the moms at the ballpark
The moms drive them because their husbands chose the car.
Such a husband wants quality, reliability, and very high resale value.
Plus, you can set the navigation system to store maps to your friends Range Rover mechanic for when he calls for a ride

In my family there were two 2007 Suburbans, an LTZ and an LT. Both have aged terribly. Paint flaking off the steering wheel controls, the black coming of the HVAC buttons, etc. Stuff that shouldn't happen on $50k vehicles. They're just shite compared to what Toyota puts out. Of course it all looks nice when it's new, but let's see if it actually holds up to time. LC have a track record of holding up, Suburbans just don't.
I have an 2007 LTZ Tahoe and none of this has happened. My biggest gripe is one of the tiny plastic piece to move the air vent around fell out.
