Is this Mozilla thing not a free market reaction?
You and I have very different notions of what the free market entails.
quote:You lost me there. Which discrimination law is involved in the Mozilla matter?
I thought this is what conservatives thought should happen instead of discrimination laws.

It definitely is. And it's 100% constitutional and everything, no objection there. To me it's just kind of shocking how quickly he was booted after his donation was made public. He did that privately, didn't let it effect his work, and I assume he still allowed gay people to stay within the ranks of Mozilla. Yet after a swift media onslaught, his resignation was tendered. All because of his OPINION on something. Kinda makes me wonder if the same would have happened if he was a man of Islamic faith.

Are you sure? Did the company's sales or products suffer and therefore lead to his resignation? Or did Mozilla cave much in the same way as AMC over faux outrage?
If the market is unhappy with a company's position and responds by refusing to buy/use its products, then I have no issue.

it is,but that doesn't mean that people are banned from criticizing it (or the behavior that led to the decision). that's part of the marketplace of ideas

What's the reason for posting the article if you don't believe that anything should be done by the legislature/courts?

the tactics of the gay agenda should be put on full displayed and criticized
i'm all for gay rights, but i fricking loathe how various groups go about attempting to achieve the rights
this mozilla scenario is just the latest example of the culture of ignorance and divergence-shaming

So the tactics of one company illustrates the entire "gay agenda"? Seems like a broad generalization.

only read what was in the quotes but that is great and spot on. Thank you L.A.

No, because the vast majority of Mozilla users were not even aware of the protest until after the guy resigned.

and i quote

it is the culmination of a culture of fear instituted by groups who shame divergent thinking. i believe it should be criticized

simple question how many of you here use any mozilla products?
I have Mozilla but I use safari for my browser.
Also if you use mozilla, did this news story cause you to stop using your mozilla browser or other product?

Do you have any other examples of this happening in the private sector? Or is this just one of those super reactionary articles when one company takes a shitty stance on an issue?

Pretty sure Mozilla is a bi-product of netscape, which Microsoft destroyed when it released IE for free.
I'm not a Mozilla user and I think it's an awful decision by them. If we had to pay for browsers, I certainly would not purchase their product. And I am pretty anti-religious.

you think this is an isolated event?
i worded my responses very precisely, b/c i know that people of your ilk will avoid the discussion and divert attention to a different, tangential argument.

so we can never discuss anything b/c any example is pointless and will only lead to generalizations? got it
will remember next time you try to make a point

If you don't have any other examples of where this happening, then yeah you can't claim this behavior is widespread from the pro gay rights crowd. Or you can, but there is absolutely nothing to back it up.

Where are the other examples?
there are a ton of highly profile cases where gays tried to force those who don't agree with them to provide goods/services. then they litigate. a really famous one was in the news yesterday b/c cert was denied in the case.
you either believe what they believe, or you will be attacked. even as a person who believes most of what they believe, i detest their methods.

then yeah you can't claim this behavior is widespread from the pro gay rights crowd.
protests trying to force those of divergent thinking to either assimilate or be punished is widespread. are you denying that?

I just don't know how to respond to people who are intentionally obtuse.
Anybody help me out?
