Should the team shut Anthony Davis down the rest of the way?

They should ask themselves what would Phoenix do?

I wouldn't if he is "cleared to play with no further risk of serious injury".
The team is building momentum and finally finding ways to win. Keep that momentum going into next year if you can.

No, I bought tickets to Rockets/Pels on the 12th. This will be my first time to see his greatness in person.

For the sake of shutting him down? No? Is he hurt? Then shut him down till he's healthy. If you can play, play.

If he's hurt then you shut him down.

I have a feeling injuries will be a recurring issue with Davis. He is simply hurt too much. My recommendation to the team would be to "sale high" and try to acquire some draft picks who will be able to give us a team that we can all be proud to support for many years to come
The frick?

Selling high is stupid, but earlier in the year someone pointed out how true Superstars tend to have elite levels of health too.
LeBron and KD have played in over 90% of their available games while AD is running about 81%. Injuries might be the one thing to take a little shine off of Davis' star, but as long as he's healthy when it counts, no one will care.

No. No. No. NOOOOOOOOO.

I think if our team had the record/playoff aspirations that KD and Lebron's teams have, then uh, yeah I think AD would play through soft "tissue ankle"
Our team hasn't been close to contending... why would they play AD when there's no meaning? Dude probably is having growth plates still.

if he is at risk for further injury then shut him down. I hope he plays out the year though I was beginning to get excited for this team again

Yeah but most of these are freak(like his concussion last year) and the wrist-on-rim this year.

That's the same dick who said since AD sore ankle was broke bone. NOLA really do have some idiot reporters. If he's hurt sure if not let him play.

In 2014 doctors should be able to tell whether or not playing will risk further injury. If it will, the answer is hell yes shut him down. If the answer is no, the play him. Any experience is good experience right now, and the worse that 76'ers pick is the better we will all feel. Plus he has all off season to recover from any niggling injuries .
Ankles don't really tend to be a recurring problem though. If it was feet, knees, or back I might be worried but who's the last guy who's career was significantly hampered bc of chronic ankle problems ?

Yep. If he has brittle bones like Oden, or had major injuries like blowing out a knee / back / etc, then I would consider it.
I wouldnt call AD injury prone at all. The hand injury this year was just a weird injury. And his ankle sprain isnt that bad either.
If hes 100% and medically cleared and wants to play, no reason to shut him down. And just because we arent in the playoffs, doesnt mean we cant affect them. We play 6 playoff teams out of our 9 remaining games. And Phoenix is 1 of the 3 teams batting for the last 2 spots. With the way we have been playing lately, I wanna see how we stack up against those playoff teams. And I bet some of the players feel the same way.

He isn't injury prone, imo.
If the team was in contention, he'd definitely be playing. Issue is, we're not in contention so they won't force him to play if it hurts too much because it doesn't help us in any way.
Players put their bodies through some crazy crap. If they're in the chase, they'll play and then you hear them get surgeries in the offseason that you never even heard of or thought of during the season.
