This is comical. It's like saying Ohio is a threat to Ohio State or Arkansas St. is a threat to Arkansas. ULL has a little to non-existant fan base and no one cares about them outside of Lafayette, and LSU has more fans in "ULL country" than ULL does.

Also, georaphically they will never be able to get out from under LSU's shadow. Tech has a much better chance IMO.

Lastly, Tech, ULM and Tulane are all trying to do the exact same thing as ULL. At the end of the day, 90 percent of the state consists of LSU fans and that wont change anytime soon.

I just honestly don't see how they can justify doubling their seating capacity when they can't even sell out what the capacity stands at now. Aside from the past 3 seasons, their attendance at football games has been an absolute joke.

what do you not understand about the difference between sell outs and attendance?

if you add more seats, more oil companies down hwy 90 are allowed to purchase more tickets.

if they don't add seating, then they are not allowed to sell the non existing seats. get it? hwy 90 is very very rich, man.

It would get interesting real fast if ULL were invited to join the Big 12 IMHO.

No it would'nt. They wouldn't win in the Big 12.

it's all about making money. you don't think that every season ticket holder buys them because they are interested in going to games every chance they get, do you?

yes....people like me and you do. but, the big dogs just buy them for many many other reasons. if you're not familiar with the oil field, i'll just stop here. let me know.

Well they seem to be a pretty popular topic of conversation on this board. I find it hard to believe that they are expanding the stadium to 63,000 though, that would be a lot of empty seats.
Maybe if they ever moved up in conference out of the sunbelt but even then I have trouble seeing it.

Played a fricking team other than LSU. I don't count Bama because they suck too. Your schedule is fricking WEAK. Ya'll are gonna stay #1 because you play nobody. Then when regionals come, goodbye. If somehow yall would make it to Omaha, you guys are not built for that stadium, it would be an easy 0-2. But you won't get there so it doesn't matter.

Look, I'm not trying to flame, man. Just look up (2011, 2012, 2013, etc) Sun Belt conference football season on Wiki. They've got attendance numbers on there for the whole conference, including ULL.

2009: avg attendance 18,666. 60.2% capacity.
2010: avg attendance 17,383. 56.1% capacity.
2011: avg attendance 29,171. 94.1% capacity.
2012: avg attendance 22,865. 73.8% capacity.
2013: avg attendance 25,976. 83.8% capacity.

Aside from 2012, the average attendance isn't that close to filling up the stadium. As I said before, how do you justify adding more seats when you aren't even getting 31k in the stadium now? Get it?

I was a student at UL. They're light years away from LSU because of the difference in money and conference. Just let UL be UL and LSU be LSU. Little bro isn't going to overthrow the emperor, ever.

If that happens, it's pretty far down the road. They're bowling in one endzone right now because they'll be losing some sideline seats for a little while when they do press box and suite work.

The major thing about the master plan is the athletic facility upgrade.
