Jordan Mickey- put on 20-30 pounds and work on post game, defending the post
Jarell Martin- lose about 10lbs, work on defending, develop a mid range game
Anthony Hickey- work on being more of an offensive threat (nick Moore style), team leader
Tim Quarterman- develop a shot, work on speed and ball handling, weight room is a must
Shane Hammik- work on shooting, strength, ball handling, defending
Malik Morgan- redshirt to get the knee back strong
John Odo- coordination, body control, finishing layups, develop post moves
Darcy Malone- weight room, post moves, rebounding, toughness, shooting
These are my opinions. I watched this team all year and from my observation if they work on these aspects of the game and we can be a top 25 team next year with the help of the freshman coming in. Give me your opinion of what y'all think.

Mickey, Martin, Tq, and Hickey can all reach what you stated.
Odo and Malone have a extremely long way to go to even be close to serviceable
Shane is a wild card, he looked so bad all year outside of the ole miss game (i think that was the one he locked down on d) and the san fran game

Pretty solid list. I really can't think of much to add.
I'd say Hickey really needs to take 1000 free throws a day.
I actually like Mickey's post game for the most part but a post player can always work on that.
Malik Morgan needs to take about a 250,000 3's before his next game.
Hammink can be a good defender if he continue to work on his quickness. His body looks fine to me as long as he adds some quickness.
TQ needs even more shots than Malik, but he can contribute without it if he continues to develop as a slasher. He needs to get into the lane often.

also hickey and TQ need to work with jones all year on pull up jumper at the elbow. they should do this first and then work in tandem with mickey, martin, and our incoming bigs on driving the lane and dishing it off as the help comes over. Then, expand that and have martin running the base line like a 3-2 type drill so that way one pg stops the other from hitting the elbow jumper the big cuts off the goal from one end but then martin either pops for a 3 or slashes to the goal for a score.

dude, that is alot of weight.
my take. add 10 lbs. work on closing out strong, on ball defense, and post moves. keep developing midrange shot. be more in control when slashing to the basket. free throw shooting

SouthofSouth, nice additions to the list. Hickey needs to work on defense before anything else.

I think our d could have been a over reaction to the rules changes, much like the baseball team let the bitch bats freak them out in 2010. It became a mental issue on d after the Umass, texas tech and uga foul fest

Mickey doesn't really need to work on his post game. Just add strength and bulk (not 30lbs, that's too much) and he'll be able to muscle guys around more. On ball defense is something that he needs some work on.
I dunno about Martin losing weight. If he plays more PF next year, then he definitely doesn't need to. He has the best shot out of every big we have tho. He's not a bad defender, just needs to work on his defensive awareness, which will come with time and experience.
AH and TQ points are pretty self-explainatory. One thing both of these players have is confidence and I think Hammink and Odo would do much better if they had half the confidence of them. I don't think Odo did as poorly as most think, but he needs to be able to defend without fouling. Reminds me of Malcolm White in that respect.
I hope Morgan recovers well, but we'll see what happens. We all knew Malone was very raw and wasn't going to play much this year, but he was much better offensive than expected but worse defensively. Like Odo, he fouled waaay too much.
My 2 cents.

If I put on the HBT coach hat for the offseason I would do this:
after last night I would tell the guys to take the rest of the week off and next Monday have individual meetings with each player. First the leaving seniors to thank them for their effort, Then any players that are likely to be processed or transfer, then juniors, then mickey (if staying), Martin, TQ. I would tell the players before they come in I want them to write down their 2 worst games and why, 2 best games and why. Their weak points and their strong points also where they feel they are on the team right now and their goal for themselves and the team. I would review it with them and compare to how I felt as the coach. I would start with the things to work on and then do the positives. After that I would tell each of them to meet with a trainer to get their new diet. Then hold a overall team meeting where each player writes down their goal for the team next year along side mine.
After that once the semester is over they would get new housing. I don't care how it has to be done but it will be done. The team will live together in one complex with a guard and forward in each room.
Next, would be summer training and I would start them with at least a 3 mile run around campus. It would be a visible run so other students see how hard the guys are working. I would also make it so that students or fans are always welcome at the offseason training.
After the 3 mile run to start the day practice would break down into this: Point guards- hickey, TQ starting at the 3 point line and getting to the elbow and pulling up for a jumper. Then they would have to decide jumper or attack the rim.
Shooting guards and Small forwards: 3 point shooting from all around the arc. uncontested at first, then with a teammate closing out, finally working on driving by a bad close out.
Power forwards and centers: I would have them working on post moves, working on pick and roll, pick and slips and working high/low passes.
After the position drills I would start with 2 on 1 just working the half court offense. TQ and Hickey with the ball, someone guarding them and then Mickey, Martin, our bigs on the block. Point guards read the defense and either pop at the elbow or dish it to the big once he is in a good position. Then move to add a second defender and a guy to run baseline. If he is on the same side as the ball teach him to fill the correct space for 3, if he is opposite ball then cut for the alley.
Then i would end the day with 5 on 5 non stop press scrimmage. once the scrimmage is over 100 made free throws before they can go home.

Martin doesn't have to lose pounds but he needs the dough to become muscle

Tim's shot needs work no doubt, but his offensive game will revolve around slashing to the basket. If he keeps working on that, he'll be fine as a scorer.

I like Martin's mid-range game. He does need to lose some weight and gain more quickness. Also, he could use some work on ball-handling. He hasn't learned how to finish with his left hand in-game yet.

I thought Hickey was a senior?
Also it'd be nice if Martin could develop some sort of semi serviceable post game

He came in with JOB. Both are juniors.

I love his touch around the rim. He puts shots on the glass that I feel like has no business going in, but they fall. He had one last night where he was falling out of bounds.
He didn't really have to show any post moves outside of that this year but possibly next season.

He won't have to if he keeps playing SF. Will be interesting where Jones puts him without JOB.

Exactly. Either way, I think we go away from the post up type situations for the most part next year. Still gonna try a lot of high low passes to get easy layups and such but more driving and dishing next year.

Our W/L record may not be very different next season, but I think next season's team will be much more fun to watch.
