Driving through BTR from Lafayette to NOLA catching a flight on Tuesday at 11 am. What can I expect Tuesday AM around 8 am?

I'd leave about half an hour or so earlier to try to hit BR around 715 - 745. Things are not as heavy then.

That was my plan B based on the response. Thanks!

You should be fine unless there's
A) a car stalled on the bridge
B) a car fire on the Atchafalaya freeway
C) an 18-wheeler overturned on I-12
D) a wreck on I-10 in between Highland and Gonzales
Any or all of them happen about every other day, so you might want to leave a bit early just in case.

Leave closer to 0600.

Don't even try. Just go the southern route on Hwy 90.

You don't need advice, you need a prayer.
Also, Nola I-10 might be backed up to Loyola at that time of day. Not a long delay to Williams, but long enough. I know around 8 it can get backed up. And in all seriousness in regards to BR, BR won't be bad unless there's a wreck on the bridge.
Edit: critical spelling

Construction in Kennerbrah backed up the Bonnet Carré for about 10 miles last Tuesday.

Even if it's bad it shouldn't add more than 10-15 min to your drive.

Most of the traffic will be in the opposite direction in the morning. You may hit some traffic around the 110 split, but it will be minimal traffic after that until Metairie.

You will be fine, traffic is bad west bound in the morning, east bound in evening.

Lake Charles has a vestigial airport.
LCH
Use it, getting to Dallas or Houston puts you in good shape for connections to eleventy times more places than MSY.

It's not that bad WB in the morning. I get on at Perkins though. EB looks slow from LA 1 to college most mornings...not as bad as in the afternoon though.
