How do you rank hem as Louisiana greats?
Truly one of a kind originals still going after all these years or just holding on to something that was special years ago.

They were fun. Great, no, but probably underrated except by the frat boys. Hoaky isn't back in the band is he? I saw them a few times after he split, just not the same. It's been a LONG time, though.

They played all over the Southeast. Great Frat party band. I remember them when I was in college. Would always try to get into whatever frat they were playing at after a football game.

Back in the 80s.....they were a Great live band. I used to go see them at the chimes on Thursday nights. There would be 20 people there but they just rocked. But their LPs were average at best.

Lets go smoke?
I use to have a mix tape of hemp related songs.
Just played it for a young 20 year old friend, he knew it from the second cord.
It is a classic.

Boiled Alive is a great live album and Bill is a really underrated guitar player.

Always loved Dash and as someone pointed out earlier, live is where they really shined..
Unfortunately, a big part of that was Hoaky...
just not the same anymore...

Patrick the bassist is a great guy and their old drummer is playing with them again after the most recent drummer moved back to Chicago.
Played a show with them last year and they were a lot of fun. Just don't think they have any draw in BR anymore

Dash Rip Rock just posted this on their facebook page. It's a little insight into their experience with SXSW.

Fun live band. Probably not a "good" band, but they were a lot of fun and they actually had some good songs hidden in all of the jokes. Haven't listened to them in years though, had no idea they were still playing. Good for them.
