Failure to Launch.
Left at 18 for college. I moved back in for a few months afterward because I couldn't find a job anywhere, but I was 6 months gone by the time I was 23.

My mom moved out when I was 15...moved back in when I was 18. I moved out a month later.
She moved out again a few months later, so I moved back in to the house.
A 19 year old kid should not have a huge house with a pool in a very secluded area...and no morals.
When I was 22, she wanted to move back in again, and my now wife and I moved out that day and got a place.
Its a small...but it's paid for. So no mortgage for me for at least three years.
You should NOT be living with a parent...but, it IS a smart financial decision if you are saving.

24 and still living at home? Sorry for the lack of sex.
I was 18. I went to college and never looked back.

I moved back home because my student loans raped me. I figured 3 years at home after school isn't so bad and it gives me enough time to pay off my loans. So when I pay that off Im out. For the $700a month I'm paying in loans, I could have left a long time ago. O well.

Lived in New Orleans. Went to LSU in 2001 right out of high school. I was 18.
Graduated in 2006. Got a full time job and lived in an apartment for two years. Bought my house in 2008 (with family's assistance).
I've never moved back home but don't think less of those who do. Especially those right out of college not making much money. Living at home can be a great way to build up your savings account.

18 and couldn't ever move back in. I've stayed for a week, and that is plenty enough for me

Many people live with their parents into their 30's.
In Brazil. Most Americans move out my 22.

I'm 25 and just moved back in. my parents moved over here by Dallas a couple years ago. I wanted to get out of Shreveport and go back to school to work in a different field. they offered me a place to stay to save money so I took it.

What house? My first place was a shitty dorm.

17. I can't imagine living at home in my mid 20s. I don't know how the current generation does it. I'm in my 30s now.

18 because I became an adult. God help me if my kids are like you.

I bet most of the people here who moved out at 18 moved into an apartment or dorm their parents were paying for.
I'm 24 and still live with my parents. Not moving out until I can afford it, which will be after graduation.

Plenty of college kids I know who "moved out" are MUCH more dependent on their parents than I am. Mine haven't spent a dime on me in college outside of whatever it costs them for me to live here, which is pretty close to nothing. I don't use much water or electricity.

I mean I guess 18 but they paid for my college apartment.
Most people who brag about moving out at 18 are still at least partially assisted by their parents.
